Hurt me with truth, never comfort me with a lie
The Leniers
The Leniers sisters where headed to Brightwater Keep. It had come to the attention of the division that something horrendous had happened in Rhoynar. A man’s eye had been taken by a vampire, lots of thins had happened with that same vampire. Not that they exactly knew everything but the important part they knew. This vampire had broken the law and had to be punished. Lindsey decided for her sister that it was time that she came with her instead of always hanging back thinking of new things that could help them on the missions. Not this time to. And her sister didn’t actually went against her on the matter. Mainly because she mentioned a visit to Allison. Their long lost sister. Who was running the joint. Something very typical, eventho it had come as a surprise when they had first found out. But all things aside, here they were. On a boat, set for Brightwater Keep. They had left a few days ago. But she already had enough of this whole boat in the first place. In her opinion they should’ve gone by horse, but Mercier had said something different. And well, the trip would’ve taken much longer. So it wasn’t all that bad, but Lindsey didn’t like being dependent from a ship. You know, they could sink. Nah, she just didn’t like the full picture. There was too much water around her.

Eventually they had entered the bay and docked their ship it was time to get of this vessel. As her foot touched ground a grin appeared on her face while she walked a little further so her sister and others could get off too. She didn’t take the time to look around or what so ever. No she immediately headed to the castle. Lindsey knew that this meeting wouldn’t be all that fun. Allison was something special and she probably wouldn’t be that happy with her two sisters hanging around. Yer it had been too long that the three of them had actually seen each other and she actually missed the blonde woman.

When they reached the castle gates a guard came towards them. She repressed the urge to draw her weapon immediately. Lindsey didn’t want to be seen as a hostile person for now. ‘We are here for the Grand-duchess, on official matters.’ She said.her voice sounded polite, but the man just grinned and shook his head. Which made a small tantrum rise that she had to repress again. For his sake she took a step back and let her sister take the word.

everything you can imagine
is real

When Lindsey came up to her to talk about her new mission, Vanessa was of course working on one of her projects. The usual words came out of her sister’s mouth, something had happened and she, as the great and fair agent she was, had to be on the field and investigate on the matter. Even though the brunette really admired her sister for her sense of justice, she really didn’t like when someone, when anyone interrupted her while she was working. The only reason why she let her go with it, was because it was her. How could she get mad at her lovely, crazy and reckless twin sister? Her excitement for her own plan was adorable and Vanessa couldn’t keep back her smile… Up until she said that she had to come along. What about her project? She couldn’t leave her little baby unattended for too long. Clearly aware of the fact that she was about to refuse her offer, Lindsey then mentioned a visit to their little sister Allison and everything changed. Vanessa missed her and even though she knew that her sister had a reason to leave in the first place, she was still sad that she wasn’t able to spend time with her as much as she did with her own twin.

Being Rhoynar pretty far from the cold Falkreath, they cleverly chose to reach their destination by boat. The brunette had never been on one for so long and she was enjoying the experience, unlike her twin, who was clearly uncomfortable. The ocean was calm and surrounded the ship as if it was a comfortable mattress where they could safely sleep on. Lindsey surely wasn’t having these same thoughts, because she looked extremely relieved when they finally got to get down of what to her probably felt like a trap. Probably to avoid looking at it once again, Lindsey immediately started walking while Vanessa was thanking the captain of the ship for helping them reach their destination. Once she caught up with her twin though, she started looking around, noticing how different everything looked over there. Whereas Lindsey was probably feeling this trip as more of a work trip, it was Vanessa’s first time away from home and she couldn’t help but be surprised about everything that she had around.

The castle was towering over the girls when they got to the gate and a guard approached them, asking to identify themselves. The older twin decided to speak first, explaining that what they needed was an audience with the Grand Duchess on official matters. Even though this was just part of their job and they could’ve gained informations from their sister, they both knew that the main reason they were there, was to see how Allison was doing. No business whatsoever, but the guard didn’t have to know now, did he? The man’s little provocative laugh, made Vanessa raise an eyebrow at him in disbelief. How rude. Worried about her twin’s reaction though, the brunette quickly laid a hand on her arm to calm her down, but luckily she stepped back right at the same moment, easing the tension between the two girls and the guard. Slightly stepping forward, Vanessa took her sister’s place. ’Just tell the Duchess that her sisters Lindsey and Vanessa are here to see her. Thank you.’ Her tone was extremely professional and unwavering and her words were quickly followed by a polite but cold smile, which didn’t reach her eyes. The man’s reaction was exactly the one that she expected. He frowned and went to talk to another guard, who looked over at the twins before rushing inside the castle’s gates. Now it was either they were banished from the city for the rest of their lives, or they could finally enter and see their sister.

With Kaz not doing much around the castle, the woman had her hands full. While she had figured out who to give what tasks around the castle, which was great for the workload, she still had a lot of work on her hands. Besides trying desperately to keep herself together in times like these, she also had to make sure everyone did exactly as they were supposed to, while still taking the fancy chair whenever someone needed her to. She showed her face in the city, talking to those she had made deals with. Whether related to their reign or her personal business, all of it still needed to go on.
It hurt to think that, with everything going on, she had no time to focus on the one thing that had pushed her to even try taking the seat she was on now. The cure for vampirism. With what was going on with Kaz, she didn’t even know if he would take it when she got it. But, it still needed to be found. She was so close, as she knew the recipe. There was just one thing missing, a thing that she needed to find still. And she would. There was no way that it was going to end like this. But, before she could go back to that, she needed to get everything around here back on track. Including Kaz, because she was not going to be able to do this while he was avoiding her. For this, she needed his support.

Luckily, her problem was time and so, she had no time to worry about these things. One of her ways of getting herself back together, had been to take more breaks. Breaks ranging anywhere between ten minutes and an hour, just breathing deep in and ignoring all the problems that were found outside of the room she found herself in at that exact moment. Right now, that room was the kitchen. With a glass of wine, a book on the dinner table and complete, lovely silence around her. There was very little in the world that she appreciated more than that.
Sadly, good things never lasted. The door was opened and to no surprise, she found her favorite guard in the opening. Gareth. ‘Drinking again, my Duchess?’ he asked. Over time, his tone of respect had stayed. Yet, she could hear the amusement in it. She knew he disagreed with her day drinking, but he also knew he had nothing to say about it. So, instead he just shook his head. ‘Your sisters are here to see you,’ he calmly stated, causing his Duchess to raise a brow. “You’re joking,” she shot back, emptying her glass with a last sip. “Please tell me you’re joking.” The desperation in her voice caused him to frown.
‘Do you want me to send them away?’ he asked. And for a second, she considered it. She hadn’t seen her sisters in many years and that was for a reason. But, they were grown ups now. And the least she could do, was allow them what they asked for.
As long as my father is not with them, you can lead them to the throne room,” she told him, after a short silence. Gareth nodded and with that, walked out the door. A sigh was audible before she too, stood up from her chair and made way to the throne room. Time to meet her damned sisters.

Sitting down on her seat had one day felt extremely empowering, but slowly started to feel like a chore. For every single time she did, business followed. And where she enjoyed it at times, with her opinion being law and all, it was tiring too. Or perhaps that had something to do with her being exhausted in general at this moment, as she did not enjoy many things.
Somewhere, she could feel nerves in her body as she waited for the twins to enter the room. After having fled the house ten years ago, she hadn’t expected to ever see them again. And even when she got her seat as a Grand Duchess, she hadn’t quite expected them to care enough after all this time to come see her. Or, for their mother to allow them to. Perhaps she didn’t know. That would make a lot more sense.
When the door to the throne room opened, she straightened her back, raising her brows. She realized how different she looked now, dressed in the short, white dress and with her now brown hair hanging loosely over her shoulders. There was little still visible from the girl who always locked herself up in her room, nose stuck in the books. And maybe her sisters had changed too.

Hurt me with truth, never comfort me with a lie
The Leniers
Damn, how she wanted to hit the guard, smacking that stupid grin of his face. But she didn’t want to give Allison any reason to throw them out. So she should behave. Off course her sister picked up on her sudden anger and had raised her hand towards her but she already took a step back. She could count on Vanessa to deal with this annoying bastard. As expected her younger sister took her place and spoke directly to the man. Stating that they just wanted to see their sister. Not exactly how she would have done it in a perfect world, but well the guard had messed that perfection up already. The guard immediately turned around to speak to another guard that ran in the castle. So now they knew their identity and everything would just go smoothly, right? Allison could not let them in too, something she had taken into consideration. But if they didn’t meet now, then when?

While waiting for the other guard to show up again Lindsey looked around, making sure she knew the position of every guard standing here. An annoying thing she did whenever she was in a place that was unfamiliar to her. This time she wouldn’t need to plan an escape tho, but better safe then sorry right? ‘Thanks for trying to keep me calm. He would have lost his head otherwise.’ She mumbled towards her twin. It seemed like quite a while before the other guard showed up again and told them they needed to follow him. So as requested Lindsey started to follow him towards a meeting that would be considered the most akward meeting ever probably. Still, she couldn’t wait to see her little sister again. She never understood why her mother didn’t allow them to see her. Not that she had followed that rule often but still.

They were being led to the throne room, or atleast that was what she thought. As far as she knew they could be walking into their sudden death to. Who knows what Allison would have in mind for them? But she chose to believe that her sister had been a person with a good heart and she hoped that it hadn’t changed. Still Lindsey was alert for any danger that could be up ahead. When the hallway ended the twins stood before a great door, that was opened by the guard. They walked inside, the person on the throne was a strange but yet familiar face. ‘I like what you did with your hair. Suits you.’ What a stupid thing to say.
