May the wine taste, ever in flavour [Jasper]

The truth doesn’t matter The sight of the never ending crashing waves of the ocean. So peaceful, yet so robust. A mere sight of nature handling it’s own thing, and nature could be so cruel. Now hiding away anything that lured underneath. The deep see creatures that were even underneath there were light could reach. A whole different world just hidden away from plain sight. At least now, now when the wind was blowing, disrupting the sea level, something that could be mirrorlike. Sometimes that happened, then the wildlife living in the ocean itself got exposed. It were rare sightings, and those were often the most peaceful moments. But not now, and somehow it calmed Evelyn down more than if it would be flat. Maybe because it displayed more what was going on in her own mind. The brown-greenish eyes stared endlessly in the pattern the waves had. Almost absently watching how one wave turned into another, or crashed. Leaving white foam heads that died off on the rising of another. Evelyn had been on coast for quite a long time, and now especially she sensed how much she missed being on a boat. Living on a small island made it a very necessary thing for her to travel by boat every once in a while, sometimes even for supplies or wares. But ever since she made her trip to Brightwater Keep, she hadn’t been on the ocean, which was a while now. And now, processing the recent events, absently staring into the waves was not a punishment. But that never ending few still ended, when Evelyn eventually saw a coastline appear in the distance. One that was new for her, since she had never been on Sunfall before. Odd, to say the least, taking into account that she was born in Rhoynar and had been with the royal family for her whole life. But for everything was a first, and now it would bring the brunette some desperately needed distraction. With that, it would be a good thing for the islands to get to know each other, to strengthen the bond between them. So Evelyn looked somewhat forward to this meeting. Especially since Jasper had invited her for a little wine tasting. And what would be better than a little bit of that? The lady had been almost impatient, seeing how close the shoreline became more visible. Due to the wind, the ship had some issues approaching the island, making it take even more time than what was expected. Just before the lady started to lose herself on the small space the -rather small- boat had, they arrived. Accompanied by no one, Eve found her way to the villa. It was quite liberating to travel alone, without any guards. But with that, she felt not as safe as she wanted to. When one of the guards came towards her, she smiled sweetly for a moment. ’Can you inform the Governor of Sunfall, Jasper Ethelwin, his guest, Evelyn Keightley, the Duchess of Cois. Has arrived, following the invitation for the wine tasting.’ Very neatly spoken she didn’t miss out on any of the formal codes. Hoping that it wouldn’t take that long, because she could use some wine for sure. |
