Sunfall had probably been on her list to visit for years. It was exactly what the woman had needed in these times. Perhaps Kaz did not agree, however. Where Sunfal was everything she loved and more, it was also the opposite of what the man seemed to enjoy. The sun she so adored, was something he tried to stay away from. The sea and beach were things he’d rather stay away from too, but for once she was not going to give him that choice. After meeting up with the Governor for lunch, they had made their way into a room, where they would be spending the next few days.

The couple had been through some rough times recently. Where Kaz being turned into a vampire had marked a whole new part of both their lives, nothing had been easy before that either. They had both been busy and she knew that she could use a holiday at this point. And hopefully, he would enjoy it too. Some time away from everyone. She had promised to leave the worries behind in Brightwater, return to them when they found their way back there. A promise she could, perhaps, not keep. But she knew that she was going to try her very best and that was all she could do. Hopefully, Kaz would do the same.

After their marriage, all their time had been spent on their new and old duties. It felt like ages ago, yet it was still fresh in her mind. The lack of sleep made it feel like more days had passed than in reality had. Which was part of the reason that this short holiday, which was also their honeymoon, in a way, was so needed. And she wouldn’t want to do it alone, as she didn’t want to spend her time away from the man she had married.
Looking into his blue eyes  as they sat next to eachother on the bed, she smiled softly, brushing her fingers through his hair. “The sun is going down,” she noted softly. That meant that it would be easier for him to go outside. She wouldn’t force him to visit the beach when the sun was up, but as soon as it went down… there was no reason not to.

Of course. Somewhere in her heart, she was sad to miss out on Sunfall during the day. But, she had decided to look at it from a brighter perspective. She could always visit the place some other time, alone. See the typical things every tourist wanted to see. But with Kaz, she’d happily spend a day in bed. Talking, just… being together. And then, when the sun went down, they could head out. It wasn’t a typical honeymoon, but nothing about their marriage nor relationship in general was typical, so she’d take it. Because she loved this man and spending the coming week with him and no one else, no tasks… It sounded amazing. While she had promised no books, she did decide to take her journal with her. Just in case he’d oversleep and she needed something to scribble in. Even as a vampire, it sometimes happened that he slept while she was awake.

An adventure. She couldn’t help but laugh. “You’ve been here before,” she noted, raising a brow. “What would be a must see for today?” They were so different, that they would both probably have a different opinion on what were good places to go to. She remembered when he had taken her out for dinner. Something about getting into a fight and eventually, she had decided to take him to a more fancy location instead. He hadn’t enjoyed it much, but the food had been worth it. She bit her lip at the thought of never being able to enjoy such small things with him. Eating good or bad food in new cities. Enjoying the sun. But, she’d happily give up those small things. He was worth so much more.
