Why so serious?
I'm not the monster, I'm just ahead of the curve
It was just poorly weather outside. The rain cleaned the streets from the filth those weak people left behind, a light storm sparkling the sky without any sound of a thunder. It was a spectacle for many of the people to watch to. But he could imagine a lot of children laid scared in their beds, hoping the storm would pass by. His pale fingers tapped on the balcony of the castle the king lived at. It was his new favorite place, looking down to those little human, hearing their heartbeats, their words. They had no clue for what was going to happen, maybe this storm was just the beginning, washing away all the sins so they could start new once. He stretched his slim body up, stroking his fingers through his dark blond hair before a tug came on the corner of his lips, one in mischief. If this would be home for a while, why not let the devil a little loose on the streets?

Avanti wasn’t seen often, his reputation persuade him but the face was for others often unknown. Despite he carried the darkness with him, the immortal had his ways. With his hands pushed down in his classic black coat he roamed the streets of D’Auvignon, shifting from the shadow to another in the pouring rain that still slipped out of the sky. The streets were rather empty, the moon setting the start of a new night. Why were the souls all inside, scared to be wet in the rain? Scared that the lightning would struck down on them? There was a bigger changed that he would struck down rather than the lighting did but that were just these people … boring.

The light purple spark in his blue eyes traveled up to a sign, making a terrible noise in the upcoming wind as it showed a bottle of beer. A tavern. He squeezed his eyes slightly shut, roaming his eyes over the street before pushing the door open, walking in like it was the most normal thing to do. He shook his head, drops of rain flying around as some people grew quiet under his entrance. Avanti looked like somebody normal, maybe a little to pale, so it wasn’t that he tipped off who he was. It was just his attitude, the darkness, the thick atmosphere that gave you the chills. Seeing him, how charming and manipulative he could be, it screamed in a way danger. And that was why some of them grew silence, because they recognized it. ‘I don’t want trouble.’ The tavern owner said on a soft voice. The instant empty smile dropped on his lips as he leaned over the counter and grabbed a half full bottle of whisky. ‘Shhhttt, hush now,’ Avanti whispered, letting his eyes lower down to the bottle he had taken. ‘I’m just here to drink,’ he put more attitude in that last word, giving it multiple options as his eyes shine in their darkness. For him there were more ways to drink and that was threat. ‘Go on.’ He dismissed the owner back to his work. The man swallowed, nodding as he went on without asking for any payment. Avanti turned around, looking into the bar before he brought the bottle to his lips and took three big swallows. Cheers ...

Vestyn Tenebrae
you wanted me to be your anchor

Life had never been easy on him, and had certainly never welcomed him with open arms. Even though the blonde man had always had the favour of bearing high-born titles, he still had to fight for what he stood for and what he believed in. Now more than ever before. He had been stripped from his title as Dauphin in his homeland, Valance, and got accused of the murder of their queen – his mother. It was no less than true that Vestyn had been present at his mother’s death, but he had not been the one to draw his sword, slice it through her abdomen and kill her with that said action. The suspect was no one other than his former lover, Faylice.
His mind could still recall every little detail from that fatal day. All the small segments from his memories shaped the events that had happened, torturing him in his sleep and when he closed his ocean blue orbs for even the shortest lengths of time. They messed up his mental state, playing filthy games with the remainder of his emotions. It felt like an infinite circle he was not able to outrun – not by himself, at least.

Obscure clouds started to appear at the horizon, and not before long rain began to fall down from the gloomy heavens above the capital city. Vestyn tilted his head slightly upwards to face the sky directly, while cursing mutely under his breath, considering that he was not dressed for this type of weather – not today, however. His blue eyes hovered back from the air to start his search for a dry hiding place, something like a tavern or a chapel. It did not take him long to locate a rather miserable-looking café, but since there was no other place to seek shelter anywhere in sight, he decided to get over his pride for once and step inside the building rapidly before he got soaked to the skin.

As soon as the blonde man placed both his feet on the wooden floor, his focus fell on the counter located in the back of the tavern. Without hesitating he made his way to the tavern owner, took place on one of the bar stools and ordered a whisky. While waiting for his drink to arrive, Vestyn couldn’t help it but to let his sight wander around the shady room. A young man, probably not much older than he was, sat a few metres away from his current position. Normally, the blond-haired man would have avoided contact with other people, but there was something about this mysterious man that instantly kept his attention span locked on his face. It was as if there was no escaping from the hints of violet in the other man’s orbs. He felt how a cold shiver ran down his spine, while almost knowing instinctively that the stranger had something to do with that. But despite the unpleasant feeling the man gave Vestyn, he still could not resist the urge to make verbal contact with him. And so, he did. “Cheers.” Vestyn spoke, raising his glass of whisky that had just been delivered by the tavern owner.

you didn’t realize that meant i had to drown

That walk through that tarvern was enough for a devil like him to seek all possible people out who were sitting there. Avanti had no fear, no patience or interest in whatever was roaming with those walls. But that didn’t worked the other way around, he could hear every single heartbeat, the one already harder than the other and that just but that slight satisfying grin on his lips as he walked over to the counter. Vampires often were a rumor, only the weak ones you saw stumbling around on the street, desperate for a good taste because they had compassion to much. But vampires as him, the stronger ones, the ruthless ones where only the tales without the face. He was well known because of his slight purple eyes, for the darkness he dragged along so it did him good … to feel the change as he entered that tavern. Some didn’t even realize, others followed him cautious with their eyes. And the owner, well … he picked the wrong night to be serving, obvious.

He took that bottle of whisky simply because he could and the owner did nothing that following his command, starting to push his towel over the counter in maganic forced movements. Avanti sat down, leaning back, fingers folding through his hair as he moved it backwards over his head before he grabbed the bottle, looking to the whisky before taking a long sip. He was able to eat real food, drink real liquids but he didn’t do it that much. This tasted almost as good as the blood he had missed for over days now. He wasn’t anxious, not yet at least yet it wasn’t hard to trigger him. But he had to stay low, coming to a tavern in this storm wasn’t exactly staying low, not that a lot of people would believe a rumor of that vampire drinking in that tavern.

Avanti hardly moved, yet his head changed an inch in direction if another man came in, placing him on the counter a little further, ordering the exact same thing. The owner gave him a quick look, opening another bottle and Avanti smiled behind the bottle, bringing it up to take a new long sip. His purple eyes shifted towards the boy, blond hair, pale skin, to nicely clothes to be just a farmer or whatever. There wasn’t any eye contact for Avanti looked away, uninterested, bored, had Navarre nothing other to offer then these sad souls? But just as he thought of ways to make this place more alive in his terms the young man spoke. His eyebrows lifted a second before he dragged his eyes back to him. His long pale fingers tapped the bottle as a short amusing smile caught on his lips. ‘A man to my taste.’ He answered, eyes lowering to the whisky. You could take that in so many ways wrong, he was a vampire, blood was his taste. But in this case he was referring to the whisky. Avanti tilted his head just a little, his dark blonde hair slipping before one of his purple eyes. ‘Are you even old enough to be drinking that.’ It wasn’t a question, it was just him being bored and making a game out of it, as usual. But at least this young man had the balls to speak up, something Avanti turned a little on his seat for, fully marching into a conversation where the boy hopefully won’t have any regrets over later.
