The rather cold breeze stroke his golden manes while his feline, but still human eyes were watching a deer grazing in the meadow. It was funny how the shifting also worked on his characteristics and instincts. He would not forget that he was a human, mostly, but when he was out as a lion, he just was one. Especially when he was alone. But he wasn't out to hunt, however tempting it was. Today was a lucky day for the small deer. It wouldn't satisfy his stomach anyway. That was the moment that the lion rose and turned his back to the deer.

Tamlin returned to one of the many roads in Navarre. He was close with the border of Nymmerwell and he wondered if he would meet another creature from there. Last time he'd met a rather interesting person. Someone who knew the king Thriumph. It was an interesting meeting indeed. And she was interesting as well. When Tamlin was out, he was always looking for something useful, something interesting. Something the king might find useful or interesting as well. So he kept his senses on sharp and his paws moving. He felt lucky to be a shapeshifter, because the cold didn't bother him at all. Though, here in Navarre on the side of Nymmerwell and Valyria, it wasn't that cold at all.

For however much she loved her parents and brother, she just couldn't understand why they saw so much danger in the outside world. There was no harm anywhere close that she could not defeat herself.

With each passing day her powers over nature itself seemed to grow. Seemed to flow faster through her. Making everything she did easier. Lighter, as if she was able to float on the pure energy this land gave out.

Perhaps that was also thanks to the fact that she was supposed to be here. Navarre should've always been her home and even if Nymmerwell held more wild nature than the calming mountains of Navarre she was sure off it. This was where her powers were originating from. Making her sure that her claim on the throne would be only more justified than before.

Right now she even felt so confident that she had left camp with Ragnar still asleep. She hadn't had the heart to wake up her protector. The man was so often at her side that he barely managed to get some rest. And besides wanting to let him rest, she also wanted to show him that she could in fact stand on her own two legs.

After all her high thoughts, after every decision she took. She should've thought better. For now it was way too late. Staring straight at the golden pelt of a lion she was forced to hold her breath. Fear lingering in her eyes. Terrified for the moment the beast would catch only a snif of her scent. She would be done for if he decided to attack. Not knowing if she'd be quick enough to pull up a defense as shock rippled through her body. Her scream wouldn't be loud enough to reach the campsite. And even if it would Ragnar would come too late and she rather had him not see her as a bloodied corpse. Even when facing a possible death she still had to think about the way she looked in front of the bastard.

So damn him. Damn this all. Damn this lion and damn her fear. All she could do was stand there. Stare in silent hope he'd pass her by. And if he did not continue towards the camp. That would become an even bigger problem as she was not looking forward to trying and saving Ragnar from a bloody Lion.

As a Lion the blonde young man felt more free, not that he had the feeling of being locked in a cage, or something. Tamlin liked his life, at least, enough to live the way he lived. But still, when he transformed in his Lion form and left the safety D'auvignon behind him, he felt more free. Even with the knowledge of all the dangers in the region of Navarre. Maybe Tamlin was a bit reckless, since he was keen on excitement. In his subconscious mind he loved the idea of never being totally safe, which might be rather strange to others. Imagine everything would be safe and sound, Tamlin would go insane from boredom. He had tried to hide it, when Thriumph had told him that he had to train, because war might break lose at any moment, but still, his eyes had sparked up at the idea. Tamlin trained in Lion form, but also as a human. It was important for him to be strong in every way. And the young man was skilled in human form as well as a Lion.

But he wasn't training now. No, he was outside of the walls to patrol on his own. To see if there was anything important to report. He had just let a deer go, since he wasn't out to hunt. While walking at a slow pace he sensed that he wasn't alone anymore. So he pointed his ears and searched his surroundings with his eyes, until he spotted a young girl. He could smell the scent of fear coming of her, so he decided to walk toward her. "You see, if you do not want to be noticed by a lion, or such, you should definitely try to stay calm," he spoke, knowing he might startle the girl. "I smelled your fear." Tamlin scanned the young girl, wondering what she did here alone. "And, Navarre is not the natural habitat for a lion to live," he then continued, grinning and wondering how this girl might react. The golden lion stayed alert as well, this might be some kind of trap. Others might be with her, knowing a Lion did not live here in Navarre. They might know he was Tamlin of the King's Guard.

The hairs on her neck were prickling, standing up straight as the lion still moved onward. Surely she was going to get noticed sooner or later by the predator and sooner or later his razorsharp teeth would hit her neck. Breaking her bones like the tiny human being that she was.

Her fingers twitched, all other senses seemed to fade away into darkness as she closed her eyes. Knowing she was not planning on going out without a fight. She was Spectre Rayner, Medici blood flowed in her veins and she was a princess in her own right. She'd never end up on her knees begging some beast for survival.

Taking note of her surroundings she wondered which plantlife she could manipulate the easiest. Which one would listen to her commands and let her have a headstart in the battle ahead.

As her mind focussed a voice cut through the thick silence making her once again loose all other thoughts as she stared forward. The voice had come from the lion. The beast spoke to her. That.. that was impossible. Or wasn't it..

Slowly a smirk crept onto her lips. This wasn't a beast, it was a man. A human. This was territory she could handle. Humans were easy. Predictable. "You would've done better hiding your human nature if you truly wished to scare me." She replied stepping forward staring at the lion in front of her. He could still attack her, but a human attacking a girl out of nowhere was less likely than a full on animal finding food. Besides, this also ment that Ragnar was saver than she had first expected, which calmed her inmensly. "May I ask why you're stalking a girl all on your own? Wouldn't it be a shame if I got a bad idea from all that?" She searched and played her words easily. However ready she was to still act. This time she knew she could fight with words. Her strong point.

Tamlin would not ever kill a young and harmless girl. She did not seem to be a threat in anyway, as far as he could notice. Of course he had to stay alert on any other specialties. She might possess a power which could be a threat, or there could be people with her, hiding. Whatever it was, he stayed alert, though, he did not show it.

When Tamlin was walking toward her he noticed how she had closed her eyes, seemed to focus on something. Tamin narrowed his own, feline-like eyes and pretended to not have noticed it. So he spoke. A smirk crept on het lips and whatever trance she'd been into seemed to fade away. Tamlin sat down and struck his long tail along his body. "What made you think that I wanted to scare you?" He responded with a question. The tension seemed to have left her body, which he could see from her posture. He bared his fangs in a grin when she spoke again. "It's not quite usual to see a girl all on her own in Navarre," he spoke. "You've got me curious," he continued. Tamlin decided not to respond on her last words, since his own reaction was enough of an explanation. Why would a girl her age be alone in Navarre. Monsters walked these grounds and nobody could be trusted. Maybe she had a death wish. Whatever it was, it was unusual and since it was his task to keep his eyes open for the unusual he'd decided to confront this girl. "What's your name, girl?" He then asked. She looked like someone who might be of importance.

The lion carried a certain type of curiosity over to her. She wanted to know the face behind the proud beast and she wanted to know his story. He would have seen a lot from Navarre by the way he could travel. That was for sure. So he could tell her more than enough about this entire place. And perhaps even give her some insight about her uncles rulership and how to make sure the legacy would fall upon her shoulders. Who knew. He may prove to be a very valuable ally.

Slowly stepping forward she made her way towards the golden monster kneeling down in front of him and placing her hand on the ground. Multiple white flowers blossomed up in their way towards the lions paws before spreading over the field as she took a seat in the bed of grass. Turning her head towards the lion once more. "I am not alone, I would never be alone." She exlaimed calmly a softened smile on her lips, her mind wandering to her companions. "I am on my way to my uncle, a man of many talents and great power. I am to present myself as the return of my mothers bloodline." She choose her words careful making sure the take his bodylanguage into consideration with ever word. "My name.. Spectre Rayner.. I am sure that will say nothing to you." She smiled softly turning her head towards the sky. "But soon enough it will mean everything to everyone." It was more a comfirmation to herself as she nodded slowly and smiled once more looking back at the best. "But do tell me what may your name be?"
