"Your blood has gone bad. I knew it would. The devil came, and did you bad for good"

,,Fifteen coins for the black one." A small pouch filled with some golden coins was thrown on the unstable, wooden table. The man who threw it had a grin around his lips. He had been one of the few who had put his bet onto the tanned fighter, down in the pit. Simply because of the fact it was unusual, Rinzler chose to do it. Somehow he always liked the stories of the underdogs. The underestimated humans. There was no more glory than proving people wrong. And he hoped, with all of his heart ánd his money, that this fighter would prove these ignorant people wrong. Sure, he liked the stories but there was also business. Oh, imagine all the money he would win with that. All the weapons he could buy, and all the kills he could make with it. A match made in heaven! His eyes travaled towards the pit, a number of levels below him. Two fighters stood at their own side of the sandy field, busy raising the audience. Each of them trying to gain more fans. It worked though. With each cheer the crowd went crazy. Some opponents yelled furiously, while others got all hyped up. Several liquids and food flew through the air. Here and there emerged little fights between drunken men disagreeing with each other. Rinzler grinned softly, amused by all the commotion. And the fight wasn't even started yet. Yét, it would soon.
All of a sudden his inner alarmbells rang. He felt a few eyes staring at him. He felt it, even though it was extremely crowded. It was an uncomfortable feeling, as if it was telling him to move. To get the hell away from there. Because of all these people it was impossible for him to find that perticuliar source. Which annoyed him to death. He wanted to find out who, or what it was. Wanted to understand why it made him feel that way. Had it been a false alarm? Or did he really had to hare away? Anyway, just standing there was no option anymore. Quickly his feet started to move, away from the gambling table. A smart man would've stayed among the crowd. An even smarter man would try to find out what was following him. In order to achieve such a thing, he walked away from the stands. He didn't looked back or made clear he was on the run for something. No, he just walked very calmly, like any man would do. The more he moved towards hallways, the quieter it became. All of the people were up there, impaitiently waiting for the fight to start. If someone was following him, he or she had no more cover down here. At the end of the hallway Rinzler stopped and turned, facing the entry. His hand layed on his daggar. A shadow moved across the stone walls. An echo of footsteps filled the area. The look on his face got dark. Who had the balls to confront him?

WHEN YOU’VE ELIMINATED THE IMPOSSIBLE
WHATEVER REMAINS MUST BE THE TRUTH

If she had had a choice, she wouldn’t have been here. It was incredibly crowded and the stench of sweat and alcohol hung in the air; all oh so typical for a fighting pit. The reason Agatha was sitting amongst the crowd, wearing a large cloak, scarf and hood in order to hide her feminine face and features, was because an informant had let the local sheriff’s department know a notorious hitman would be present at this fight. Luckily Agatha had just arrived in Sundarin when the news had come in, but she was less lucky with the understaffed precinct. Somehow she was the only one who was able to come here to take a chance at catching this criminal. It was stupid, and she felt stupid for being here alone, but at least she was able to not attract any attention by pretending to be a young nomad man.

From her place somewhere higher on the tribunes she was able to see everyone who came in. Some looked more shady than others, but right now there was one specific man Agatha was looking for. She had never seen the man who was known as Rinzler, but she kept the descriptions she had of him in the back of her mind. There were quite a few men who looked like they could be him, but one in particular caught the sheriff’s interest. Her eyes followed him as he entered the crowded area and placed a bet at the gambling table. From where Agatha was sitting she had a decent view of the man and she went over her mental checklist: A young man no older than 25 years, about 1,85 meters tall, dark blonde hair, a muscular body... From this angle she couldn’t see if he had any tattoos, but this man could very well be the one she was looking for. What made this even more likely was that all of a sudden, the man walked away from the stands and the crowd. He couldn’t have lost his interest this soon, especially since he would be guaranteed to lose the gold coins he had used to bet. No one would just walk away from that. Had he noticed he was being followed? If that was the case, two things could happen now. Either he knew someone was watching him and he had fled the fighting pit, never to return, or he would come back if no-one followed him. Not knowing how much the man knew, Agatha wasn’t willing to take the risk of letting him get away and thus she carefully moved through the crowd and to the hallways where the man had gone.

Knowing that this could very well lead to a confrontation, Agatha checked her options. As she walked out of the crowd and into the hallways, she checked the items on her belt that were hidden by her over-sized cloak. Crossbow, check. Daggers, check. Pouches of plant seeds, check. Handcuffs, check. With this arsenal she had a chance to take him in. Or not. She would find out in due time. And indeed, as soon as she turned a corner, she saw the man standing at the end of the hallway. She took a few more steps and then stopped at a safe, good distance away from the man, leaving an empty space of at least five meters in between them. Short-range weapons would be of no use. "You’re missing the fight," she said, deliberately lowering and cracking her voice to mimic the voice of a young man. She was still keeping up that role, after all – and with the long cloak covering her whole body, the hood over her head and the scarf over the lower part of her face it had a chance of tricking those who didn’t know what to look for.

Know your worth. Then add tax.

It would be a straight out lie if he said he wasn't stressed out. Heck, his heart was racing faster than an English thoroughbred. And yet, his heart wasn't going as quick as his mind. No, his mind turned overtime. Knowing he had enough enemies who were after his ass, the idea of being -possibly- followed made him somewhat nervous. Any crazy person could come after him, craving for revenge or any other reason. But that was not the main reason he was bothered. Rinzler hated one very specific thing. Something he was terrified for; nothing in the whole world was worser than getting arrested and being put in jail. And as a wanted fugitive for the Navarre government, his chances of getting arrested were pretty fucking big. Once he managed to escape from the authorities, which made him highly doubt if he could avoid the dance for a second time. Sadly, luck wasn't forever. He knew it was running out.
However, all this stress might've been for nothing. Maybe there was nothing going on, maybe it was just a false alarm. God, he prayed that that was the case. He had absolutely no intention of starting a fight in here- or to flee. His grip around the hidden weapon beneath his coat tightened. The echoes of footsteps became louder and louder. Soon a figure appeared in the hallway. All covered in thick clothes, unable to spot any features. A frown appeared in his forehead, not knowing what to think. Was it a woman? Was it a man? Anyway, this person had stopped aswell. Rinzler's distrust grew by the minute, an expression he didn't even try to hide. If this chap had no business with him, then why stop? Or was he/she surprised to encounter someone down here? The silence between them held all the options open and it frustrated him. Somehow it made him wanting to step forward, pulling his daggar and simply murder this chap. The easiest and quickest way to deal with situations like this. Maybe the guy had a few nice artefacts beneath all those clothing.
At the same time Rinzler managed to stay calm as a rock made of ice, concealing his dark ideas. Instead of the dark look he first wore, he now smiled careful. ,,So are you," he rebounded, cautiously trying to figure out what the intentions of this guy were. Obviously both of them were playing this little game save. Ignoring all his emotions, he decided not to give in first. ,,Truth being told; I was going for a piss." Meanwhile he released his daggar, pointing with his thumb towards the space behind him. ,,Could hardly do it in a man's drink, hmn." A disgusting thought, honestly. Good thing this person had his full attention. ,,What's your excuse?" Dangerously his eyes twinkled, preparing for any sort of reaction.

    WHEN YOU’VE ELIMINATED THE IMPOSSIBLE
WHATEVER REMAINS MUST BE THE TRUTH

This situation was one she would have to handle delicately. If this man was indeed the one she was after, things could take a turn for the worse if he found out who she was and what she was here for. She was going to take her time with this to make sure this was indeed Rinzler, and then she would take her time to find the right moment to disarm and arrest him. He was a dangerous man and Agatha preferred not to fight him – a physical fight was one she was almost guaranteed to lose, and using her magic could cause a whole mess on its own. No, she wanted to take him to the judges alive and unscathed. But first and foremost she had to make sure this was said man.

The man was not amused by her presence, to say the least. His facial expression and body language made that clear as day. His reaction to her comment hinted at the possibility that he was being just as cautious as Agatha was at this moment, which was unsurprising if this was the right guy. It also revealed that he hadn’t noticed that she was actually a woman, meaning that the element of surprise could still be in her favour. Though it had its benefits, this actually wasn’t the primary reason why she was pretending to be a man – it was simply the fact that places like these were jampacked with men, so without her disguise she would likely attract a lot of unwanted attention. She needed to stay as down-to-earth as possible now.

After having given an explanation (which was more detailed than Agatha would’ve liked) the man asked her what her excuse was. She raised an eyebrow in response. "Interesting choice of words," she replied, still with an intentionally lowered and cracked voice. An ‘excuse’ could imply he was making his reason up on the spot, which wouldn’t be needed if he wasn’t hiding something. "I’m here for business," she said, after which she looked around her, as if she wanted to make sure they were really alone. Of course, she was just pretending. "I heard you might be interested in... a job?" she continued in her fake-man voice. It was time to see whether this person was at least indeed a hitman.

Was he challenging the man? You bet! Rinzler wanted to find out what exactly was going on here, and he planned on doing that quickly. As quickly as he could though;  all in all he had to stay really careful. Even though he could communicatie with the dead, he wasn't gunning for joining them soon. Even after all the shit he went through, he still hold on dearly to his own life. The world was one big playground, a huge game ment for adults. The way he was playing worked out pretty fine for him. Rinzler adored the life he was living. Knowing that his freedom was in serious danger, disturbed him tremendously. Handling this... Odd situation with absolute care was a big must- In contempt of Rinzler's standard approach. Investigating the person at the other side of the hall, he tried to captivate any little type of detail. As if he was trying to find out more without using words. Just one small element that gave away a bit more information. He tried and failed.
There was no time for Rinzler to get embittered about that. He had to pay attention towards the guy, listen to what he had to say. He seemed to know how double-sided Rinzler's comment had been. His words could be taken as a joke, or indeed, as a pharisee cover up. A deeper meaning, hidden under innocence. Meanwhile the murmurous sounds of yelling people above them ceased. It made Rinzler look up to the ceiling, focused on hearing a voice in the far distance. Some rich fuck was giving a speech, which ment the fight would start after the fuck finished. Goddamn. All he really wanted to do today was to see a thrilling fight and win cash. Surely he could forget about that- after hearing some very clear words.
Deliberately Rinzler's blue-green coloured eyes traveled back to the stranger in front of him. His soft pink lips formed a gentle smile. ,,You're here for business," he repeated slow. Of course, Rinzler knew all too well what the man implied. ,,Please do tell what they've told about me. You made me curious." If this chap truly spoke the truth, he definitely wanted to find out which tales were among the people. Positive or negative advertisement, kind of a big deal. Sort of. How big did his name grew in the past few years? How notorious did he actually became? Never before he had thought about stuff like that. ,,Perhabs you have the wrong person in front of you, 'cuz if they told you about me, you must've known I hardly take requests."

      WHEN YOU’VE ELIMINATED THE IMPOSSIBLE
WHATEVER REMAINS MUST BE THE TRUTH

The sound of the excited audience above them faded away as a distant voice could be heard. Agatha knew the fight would start soon, but she couldn’t care less about that. She had something much more important (and interesting) to do. The man’s answer to her words revealed that he had at least some interest in what she had to say, and if she didn’t have this role to play and if her face wasn’t covered in cloth she would’ve smiled. She had successfully cast out her line and this fish was very close to falling for her bait, and it would be nice if it was the giant pike she had been hoping for. "You’re good at what you do," she replied, still with a lowered voice. "You get the job done and yet you’re never caught. All those gumshoes* out there are pulling out their hair because of you," she continued. Oh, the irony. "I heard you cause some trouble in small villages too, but that's not what I need. A one-time thing, quick and with no trouble afterwards." She waited for a few moments as the man spoke again, though she wasn’t fazed by his words. "Of course not. If you are who I believe you are, you choose them yourself," she said, after which a grin appeared on her face – even though this wasn’t visible for the man due to the scarf that covered her mouth and nose. It was, however, all part of her act and she made sure that smile was audible in her voice. "Or you get paid. And what I’ve got for you is highly profitable, to say the least."

Silently Rinzler listened to every word being spoken. His facial expression was neutral, not revealing how he thought about it. Internally he was in conflict with himself- pros and cons were discussed up to the points. But most of all, was it real? At first sight it all looked fine; even though being in a public location, they were isolated from everyone. Plus point. Besides, the unknown guy seemed sketchy enough to ask for such a request. After all, this was not his first customer- he understood, and respected, that people wanted to remain unrecognizable. Most of the time it would be a one time deal, so why bother what the person actually looked like? Yet, there was something inside of him that did not trust this whole situation. "Highly profitable", or this guy was really desperate, or it was too good to be true.
Fuck it, he just went for it. What could go wrong? And if it did, he would find his way. Things always turned well afterwards, for him at least. Everyone who stood in his way the same could not be said. Perhaps it was arrogant to think so, but what did he have to be negative about himself? Negativity brought you nowhere. ,,Tell me more," he started shortly. ,,Full price first, given that opinions about a high price may be differend." There was always room for negotiation, if the amount wouldn't be enough. ,,What's the name of the target, where is it located, and do you have any perticuliar wishes on what should happen?" Talking about customer service. Anything was possible, as long as it stayed realistically feasible. Rinzler did not pounce on suicide missions. ,,And most of all; the reason why."
