The more I read, the more I acquire
the more certain I am that I know nothing.

Her darkwned eyes stood focussed while walking through the crowd. Alez was never a people person. Bit she couldn't exactly not be around the capital. She had a job to do. multiple scripts to finish. That ment going out into the crowd and take her place. walk with pride and try not to look stupid while doing so. It was an harder task for her. She enjoyed her silence too much and in this place she needed to talk and be social.

Alaezna had always been a quiet type. Even when her parents had still been around she was more of a listener and an introvert. But ever since the dissapearence of her mother and the death of her father she had stopped talking altogether. Only speaking up when someone needed her to talk. Hiding herself away in books and scripts. Forcing herself to only focus on her job and hiding away in stories after her job was over for the day.

It was the only thing that made her feel alive from time to time. Living a thousand lives at once as she read about the myths of long ago. Tragic stories were her favorites. Gods fighting eachother and betrayal under human kind. It showed her so clearly how small human kind was and how easily forgotten.

Most of the legends weren't known by the common people. Written in old dialects and often even other languages. Alez had learned herself almost every language there was out there, even if she didn't master them all. She tried to learn every day. Even starting on Dovahzul which resulted in some trips to Valyria.

Right now she had just returned and was making her way towards her own little workingspace at the Aztlan's Library to store away her notes and retranslate them into readable scripts. All to eventually turn into a book that could be stored in Aztlan's ever growing collection. But that ment.. walking through this busy marketplace. Holding her bag close to her she walked on staring at the ground not noticing as she was bumping into people untill she walked straight into a larger man.

I make it my business to know Empty Re: I make it my business to know

Many days have passed as the men left the borders of Rhoynar and Nymmerwell to travel down south towards the city of Aztlan. He was a wanderer. A pagan. With no shelter and no home he could stay him. But most of the time he did not bother himself with that.

The travel around lake Tiwanaku had cost him a few days during the heavy rainfalls and he lost his way a few times If it was not for the many travellers on the road he would still be wandering there. And only god would know what would happen to him. Valk could easily take care of himself. He did not need much to live from so he had learned during his time as a knight for the king and queen of Valyria. He shook his head, so many differences with his spoiled family. They have lived their lives as kings and queens, wearing pretty dresses and attend special parties from the most ordinary people in town.

With a grumpy look on his face he moved the horse forward again as the capital dimmed up in his dark eyes. Finally he hissed. Not caring wether people would hear him or not. Finally i’l be able to see what this rotten city has in mind for me. or not. I would not be strange when Valk would stay here for a few hours and continue his journey. He never stayed long in one place. Most of the time he would eat for a bit, have a nap or enjoy the company of someone. It did not matter to him.

His eyes reached for the piramides that pinched out off the trees in front of him. And many of the buildings around him referred to the Gods. Or at least he thought they where gods. Valkyrie stopped the stallion and made his way down the horse. Once down he pulled on the reins and lead the horse into one of the stables. There he would let the horse rest and continue on foot.

Once outside again he let his eyes get used to the bright lights and continue his way through the city. His large posture moving straight through the busy street life of Aztlan. His eyes piercing through all the other people in the streets. Most of them did not bother him and as a lady got his attention his eyesight got lost from the road in front of him and he bumped into something, or ’someone’. He took a step back and some swearing words escaped his mouth as his dark eyes reached for the body in front of him.

She had been so stuck into her own mind that the woman hadn't realised that other people were living and walking down the streets of Aztlan. Normally most would just let her be or jump out of the way to make sure she wouldn't trip. Alez falling down some stairs was a all too often occurance in the capital of Nymmerwell. Where she would be strict and silent, hard and careful in other lands. Here in Aztlan she was at home. And at home is where most of the mistakes happen right.

So walking into a large man was not at all uncommon for her. However when the man did not apologize or move after their incident she couldn't help but stare up. He was taller than she had expected. Nearly breaking her neck in the process of trying to find his face.

Pulling up a brow she made sure she was still holding all her papers before crossing her arms. As much as she wanted to ask him with some horrible pun about being 'way up there' if he hadn't seen her. She kept her mouth shut.

Alez wasn't a woman of many words. And surely she wouldn't speak up against an annoying foreigner. So Alez did what she could do best. Stare judginly up at the man waiting for his apology before she could be on her way.

For a woman who barely spoke she sure had a decent thought on how people should act and behave, not only around her, but in general. All things could be a bit nicer right.

HE WORE HIS HATRED
LIKE A CRUEL SECOND SKIN

As soon as the man regained his balance and set himself straight again his taunting eyes drifted towards the body he bumped into. A feminine face appeared with the longest and most black hair he had ever seen. Something you would not see in Vanaheim everyday but was probably more common around these borders. He had traveled a lot these past few months and surprised himself on the many culture differences this country had to offer. From the high society in Navarre and the arrogant and disapproving looks he got to the energetic and welcoming privateers and pirates in Brightwater keep. It all gave him different kinds of energies. But there was one thing he had not found just yet. Home.

Every place was different and had it's negative and positive sides. He had a bed, a chair food an rum or any other drinks within his reach. But nothing that reminded him of home. As if there was no place on earth for this man. As if he had to be in another world. The onyl thing that came close towards home was the time he was with his sister. And all he could do to her was upset her. Valkyrie tilted his head a bit down so he could pierce his green eyes into hers.

He saw how the features in her face changed and how she raised up her eyebrow. She was probably waiting for any excuses from his sides. Too bad for her that he was in a bad mood today. His journey from Vanaheim to Nymmerwell has been long and all he would be craving for right now was some food and some alcohol to drink his thoughts away. The apology he wanted from her was the last thing he was thinking about right now. He took a step back from her and let his grumpy and low voice hear, what? It was just a word. Nothing more nothing less. But hopefully enough to scare her away so he could continue his 'duties'.

Well this was not quite what she had expected. Normally a hard angrily stare was enough to get people to apologyze and move on with their lives. This man seemed to take her challeging look head on with a rough 'what' as a reply.

This shook her up somewhat. Losing the focuss on her gaze and quicly shifting her eyes back. Thinking for a second on how to react. She could throw in a whole other langague to shake him off or she could pick up the challenge where he left it hanging. Risking a fight but at the same time making sure that she would stand her ground in her own god damn city.

"I was just wondering wether all tourists are rude." She replied a bit softer than she would've actually liked but harsh enough to trow the ball right back at him. If he was something of a decent person ofcourse he would apologize now right. He wouldn't continue their little feud as it would never be entertaining enough for someone.

Her words however little it may be did give her some kind of confidence boost as a little smirk could not be hidden away from her lips. She felt great for finally speaking up for herself. Maybe, just maybe she should do it a bit more often. Ofcourse that would require her to have a lot more training in the speaking department. But it was some character development she had to admit.

One day I will find the right words
and they will be simple

She did not seemed impressed by his word. And maybe he had to do more to drive her away. But he did not want to stir up things too much. All he knew was that he wanted some food. Since his belly was making strange movements.  Valk raises his eyebrow as she answered his words. Ready to fire his answer back at her. I am sorry for bursting into your bubble of perfection. But I guess you where also wrong in this little ‘feud' he leaned forward. His tall body turned towards hers. He was not the only one who bumped into her. It had also been the same way around. Why he answered her this way? He did not knew exactly. Maybe he just wanted to get rid off the frustration he held inside of him. Maybe he just wanted to be that way today. He did not knew why or how.

And for a second he was wondering if everyone was like this in Aztlan. If that was the case he better be gone as fast as he could.
