When Emilia was eleven years old, she decided to venture out. She was mad at her parents for heading out without her and thought she'd show them that she was capable of caring for herself! Sadly, she ran into a creature, who managed to scratch her neck and leave her to bleed. After her condition seemed to worsen, they decided to turn her. All that's left today is scars.
Emilia had trouble finding her place when she was a teen. Her older brother seemed to have goals much clearer than hers. Where did she belong and what could she do? It took years for her to learn how to properly control her magic, but finally she learned she could take pain by holding someone's hand and she could even heal their wounds, though this drains her energy. She can't make the pain disappear: she can only share it, thus feeling it herself. She only uses this magic if absolutely needed.
Emilia learned how to treat wounds without using her magic, caring for her pack when they were badly hurt. She tends to work with favors, not charging anything to help out someone by taking their pain, but instead telling them
they owe her. What this favor might be is something they never know. She either needs them to bring her some herbs, kill a beast that has been pestering the village or something way, way worse. Once the promise has been made, however, there's no turning back or she'll hunt you down.

Yet, the woman fears that this peaceful life can't last forever and can't wait to see the Medici fall and take their place, making all of Navarre theirs.
