Dancing's not a crime

Sell your soul, not your whole self
Things had been stirring lately. Good things, bad things, a lot of things. Mercury didn’t find himself in the middle of it for once, which seemed to be a miracle, but Mercury wouldn’t be Mercury if he didn’t try to get into the middle of it. So, the vampire had left early, dawn wasn’t even here yet, to watch the last of the stars fade into the morning light and to make a small trip through the forest. Maybe there was a cat to be saved, maybe there was some other beauty to be discovered. He had walked the same path for over a hundred years now, but it never bored him. Somehow, every day it seemed to alter a bit, parts that seemed different or where suddenly something seemed to be missing. But today, he had no eye for that. No, he only had eye for his plan.
At the edge of the forest with a clear view of the village, the Commander had managed to climb into a tree. As one usually does. His back was on the branch, one of his feet dangling off. The sun had eradicated the last of the stars and all that was left were pastel colors that told him today was going to be a beautiful day. Sad that he almost didn’t get to see one. Ah well, he could see stars at night and cats by day. Surely he could live without a pastel sky. They weren’t his favorite colors anyway.
The sudden yet faint sound of a heartbeat was music to his ears. Ah yes, his victim. Mercury already started to grin by the thought of it, as he casually continued to relax as if it was the most normal thing to do in early morning in the forest. The tree he was in was high enough for him to go unnoticed and low enough to get noticed once he would make some sounds. Time to get in action. The vampire got up, crouching closer towards the middle part of the tree and clutching it as if his life depended on it. ‘’You are my savior!’’ He exclaimed dramatically as he saw the boy appear in his vision. ‘’I shouldn’t go there if I were you!’’ He continued once he had gotten the attention. His voice sounded scared. His mismatched eyes stared at the boy, frightened. ‘’I heard some very scary sounds coming from there. I believe there’s a mountain lion.’’ Maybe the other would believe him and try to hunt it. That would be a long hunt.

Orion got out of bed early today. Or well, he was always up at the break of dawn anyways. The sword he had started making a few days ago had to be done today. If it wasn’t done, well someone wouldn’t be happy. Luckily he worked on it most of the night so the only thing he had to do was mending a crystal onto the handle of the sword. The most simple thing ever to do. So the young lad started working on it and after half an hour he was done with the sword. Right on time cause someone started banging on his door. He sheathed the sword and walked with it towards the door. When he opened it, he tilted his head for a few seconds and looked up to the guy who was looking quite angry at him. A frown appeared on Orion’s forehead. “Is it done?” He asked quite harsh. Orion let out a deep sigh and handed the man the sword. He inspected the weapon and eventually a smile appeared on his face and he took a step sideways. Behind the guy stood a small chest. With a simple kick from the man’s heel it flew open and a few gems appeared. Just what Orion had asked for. ‘It’s always nice doing business with you, enjoy it.’ The other nodded and walked away towards a group of people.
After Orion had taken the chest inside and emptied it in a safe place he decided it was time to go out. Or well mainly his stomach decided. It was time to scavenge something to eat. Maybe he could get some honey or something. The thought of honey alone made him even more hungry then he already was damnit. Once he was near some honey he might shift to his bear form to obtain it, but first he needed to find some. Damn how he wished Cassian was here looking with him. But he hadn’t seen the lad anymore since the last time they had met, so that was sad. While walking Orion occasionally looked up in the tree’s to see if he could spot a beehive, but for not he didn’t find anything.
Something had found him. A voice sounded, a voice that sounded from the trees? Did he finally went crazy? He looked up. At first he didn’t spot the source of the sound. Until he saw a person hanging in a tree. What the? Orion scratched his head. How did he get up there in the first place, and seconds how was Orion supposed to get him down? Just his luck. ‘Don’t worry about that mountain lion, we are friends.’ Well, that was if it was Saggitarius. Let’s hope. ‘How in the Mother’s name did you get stuck up there?’
