Summertime madness [Dante] Empty Summertime madness [Dante]

di jul 17, 2018 4:42 pm

She smiles on trouble,
gathers her strength from distress,
and grows brave by reflection

The way back from Navarre to Rhoynar hadn’t been one she’d expected, or had seen coming. It had never been out of her options, to stumble across the one person she really wanted to be as far away from as possible, but that didn’t mean Faylice hadn’t hoped against it. And still it happened. On her very first trip to Navarre, like it wanted to send her a message to never get back to the damned country. Which was a thing that was impossible to do for the lady, just staying away from it as a whole. No, because she was the one in between the two countries, and that meant that she needed to be there too. Not for now though, for now she would recover in the somewhat “safe” castle of Brightwater Keep. And she would do that for quite a while.

With a sigh Faylice raised herself from the bed she was sitting on. She didn’t know how long her ice blue eyes had been gazing so absently out the window. Seeing how the city revolted, how the people lived their lives. An old habit that kept returning. Her just watching how the villages lived while she did absolutely nothing, like her body didn’t want to move, and just didn’t listen to any signal. But now she had finally pulled herself out of that track, deciding the dark haired lady really needed to get out of her room. Simply because she couldn’t hide in it forever.

It took even longer to really get through the door of her bedroom. Not really knowing what she was going to do didn’t help. Outside in the city lurked the danger of the Plague, a silent disease that was so deadly. Finding her peace in one of the gardens wasn’t quite the option either. The lady had done that earlier, with success that was, but the burning sun really pushed that out of her options. Fay wasn’t used to the hot Mediterranean sun, that seemed to leave its burns twice as fast on her almost porcelain skin-color. The previous experiences with being under the sun for too long were definitely not that great, and so the thoughts left the idea as a whole. Eventually, the thought of exploring some more of the castle popped into Fay her mind. A thing she couldn’t really find any arguments against, making it the final push towards her finally stepping out her chamber.

Dressed in a simple, light dress that could withstand the heat that also was in the castle itself, Fay began to explore a side she had never been before. The dress still wrapped closely around her neck, showing no skin above her shoulders apart from her face. It provided the little imaginary safety, just as the cleanness of her hands did that. On the thought, Fay looked down to her hands. They were just as clean as the last time she checked, right before she stood up from her bed, but the reassurance gave her that little bit of courage. Swiftly the dark haired lady turned around the first few corners, really hoping she would find her way back when she was done exploring.
