Liquid sunsets
zo okt 01, 2017 9:09 pm
I've seen your flag on the marble arch The port was bustling and glowing from the shoreline as The Adventure Galley pulled into anchor in the early afternoon light. The ship's captain stood perched upon the stern, one hand held over his eyes to block out the sun as he gazed at their destination. Sasha had placed herself on the lower deck on he most front part of the ship so she could see the city and it’s busy harbour. Brightwater keep. The ‘capital city’ of Rhoynar. The girl had heard stories about this city and it’s villagers. And she wanted to experience it for herself. Too bad for her she was not only there for that purpose. Sasha would enjoy spending a few days and nights here just to relax and revel. Before she would continue the search for her lost sister. And once her job was done here the sea would call her back when it was ready for her, but until then - absolute abandonment had a certain appeal. For her the ocean was more than a dream, it was a place she needed to visit to find herself. And when she returned to the city, you could see the sun in her eyes, the wind in her hair, the taste the infinite salt on her lips. As the ship was as good as ready she left it. Looking at all the people who where around seeing their faces for the first time. This was actually the first time in her life she visited the city. She had travelled to Isla the Juegas one time but nothing more then that. It was a bit later by the time she found a tavern that had a decent drink. She started with ale and paler drinks, but moved on to the rum and whiskey before long. Several other people, travellers and villagers were in the café as well, and with the lot of them the place became a loud, jovial place filled with the laughter and mirth of men who had been pent up for too long. She laughed with a few of them, telling jokes and stories until her voice started to rasp and she couldn't talk anymore without straining. After some drinks Sasha decided to leave the place for she had much more important business to deal with. Even though she had a drink her head still felt quite normal and she was getting used to heavy drinks. Back in Cois this was her standard ritual with her friends. Once outside she walked the streets of the large city. Her head straight up looking at all the buildings and comparing the difference with the buildings and houses in Cois. Cois is a beautiful place. White houses. Most made of marble, clean streets and golden applications. She saw so much difference with these two cities and where would she even begin to find her sister. If she was in this town. words 485 tag Eve |

Evelyn checked herself in the mirror once more before looking out of the window again. It was already late in the afternoon, but she couldn’t deal with court anymore. She had stayed several days inside of the room, and even though it was all just perfectly set up for her, got her maids signed to her to bring food and everything else she needed, and came in regularly to check in on her progress. But the air was getting thicker and she felt like she needed to go out. It brought her back to another memory that popped up again since she lost so many of them. On Cois Eve got out almost every day, and since the island wasn’t that big the ocean was always very close. If she got the change she took a horse and run along the waves as they came up the sand.
Sometimes her sister would go along, most times it would begin as a walk on the beach, getting closer and closer to the water. Then it would begin with making each other’s feet wet and it would always end with the both of them completely soaked. Evelyn smiled while thinking back to the time they were young. But with that a worried feeling came up, it was the same as the feeling of absence of her. They could go without each other, really now they needed to handle more and more diplomatic subjects the time together was different. But now, now she had experienced dead from so close by it changed. If it was a deliberately move, which was likely because of her title, her sister was open for attack. And with that it meant that Sasha was now the successor, the Duchess of Cois, which made her vulnerable for everything she was under now.
Shaking the thought off Evelyn pulled herself out of the fogginess to head to the door. She had let everyone know that she was going to Brightwater Keep and as she expected the carriage was waiting just outside of the palace. With little resistance she agreed to have her protected by the guards of Rhoynar, ones that would keep her in sight. Because she trusted the Duke, Trystane so much she couldn’t cancel the whole process. How weirds things could go. It was already late when she finally arrived to the quiet streets of Brightwater. But not only her need of fresh air was her reason to get out, rumors told her a ship from Cois had come to here, a ship that wasn’t necessarily for trading and that made her wonder. Evelyn wanted to get to the bottom of this, and that preferably yesterday instead of tomorrow. As she turned around the corner, the guards following her on her heels she saw a figure that she could recognize blindly, could it be?!

I've seen your flag on the marble arch The docks were crowded, many ships preparing to pull up anchor and head off on a new adventure. Sasha heard men shouting and bartering, some angry and others excited. She spied her own ship she came on, off in the distance. Only a few details of it where recognisable. They where already preparing the ship to go back to Cois. But she wouldn’t got on it. She would stay here and search for her sister. And of course try to have some fun and meet new people. Sasha had all the wealth in the world she could ask for and still. She was unhappy with it. The only thing she longed for was adventure, the world and meeting new people. For her the ocean was more than a dream, it was a place she needed to visit to find herself. And when she returned to the city, you could see the sun in her eyes, the wind in her hair, and taste the infinite salt on her lips. As she turned left into the streets she reorganised her simple dress and watched the people walk by. A soft smile appearing on her face as she saw all those faces which where strange to her and yet so familiar. Maybe she could ask some people she would have seen Eve and go on with her quest after she gained some more information of the villagers. But where would she start? She did not knew where she went or who she saw and she had no pictures of her with her. Only a proper description read on from the mind. And who would recognise her with only words… probably no one. Her opportunistic smile disappeared from her face and she finally realised that she was all alone. In a strange city, with people she did not knew she could trust. Sasha decided after a few moments of re thinking her plan to walk on. Maybe she could find a nice baker and eat something while thinking about a plan. Not knowing her quest would be way shorter then expected she walked on. Lifting her dress a bit up so she would not fall over it. words 363 tag Eve |

The streets were quite vibrant for the time of the day. Brightwater keep had its reputation, having a wild nightlife almost every night. The busy trading city housed many pirates for the night that had plenty of time to sleep on the seas around Rhoynar. Cois was not so busy, only when there were special events, or at the weekend nights. And even so it was a pretty calm compared to the big capitol. Now, there were a couple of relatively quiet hours. The market hours were over and it was just after dinner time. Soon the beginning of the nightlife would start, making the streets busy again.
Although the guards were not her own, she felt safe with them. Maybe the man that were signed just felt trustworthy, maybe it was the man that assigned them. The duke that had helped her so much, including saving her life. Evelyn’s view refocused on the streets and the one figure that stood out above the rest. It could almost be called characteristic how her slender posture moved towards a shop. What seemed to be a little bakery. Even though she wasn’t totally sure that it was her sister that could be walking in the store, she wanted to know. She didn’t get any clue of where anyone was now she was supposed to be dead. Only in the castle of Trystane they knew Eve was alive. But she also knew her little sister loved adventures and traveling.
As she stepped towards the door she sighed, reevaluating her plan of stepping through the door and looking for the one she cared about so much. The chances were so little Eve could find her here, but at the same time, her eyes didn’t lie that often to her either. Setting foot across the doorstep she looked around, her guards taking sharp notice of the place. Then she saw her, and the sheer beauty her sister had always have since they were children. Evelyn recognized every little detail about the woman, but still wasn’t sure if her minds was playing tricks on her. ’Sas,’ Her words, spoken so doubtful and out of breath. ’is that really you?!’ Unsure she awaited the reaction, while she could finally get the answer if she had seen it right.

There is more to you than meets the eye As soon as she entered the bakery a soft smile was placed on her lips. Behind the desk was a young girl standing with what seemed her grandmother. The small girl was helping her pack some belongings for another customer. And once the food was packed she let the man pass and nodded softly. She made her way through the small shop and let her eyes trail over the many breads, cakes and other sweets the store had to offer her. She picked up some small breads from the cabinet and placed them on the desk. Hello, these three please. her voice was soft and the smile that just was placed on her face was gone. It had made place for a troubled and worried look. Wondering if she would ever find her sister again she heard the door being opened. But she did not seem to bother to look her way around. As she watched the girl pick up the money from the cabinet her breath stopped. Sas. a doubtful voice filled the room with sound only for a short period of time. following another pair of words. Slowly she turned her head around her body following. At first she saw some tall guards appear but as she looked closer and pinched her eyes subtle. She saw the small feminine body standing in the doorstep. She released the pressure on the sack of food and tilted her head a bit to the side. Eve? slowly she moved herself forward until the familiar face became clear. Eve!!? she called. Making her way towards the woman and threw her arms around her neck. |

The truth doesn’t matter There still was so much of confusion in the mind of Evelyn. It was almost as if her brain was still slowed down from the poison and all of the events that had been going on after that moment the glass of wine had touched her lips. She could still even be hallucinating or something like that, her mind still fuzzing and being more cloudy than it was before. It all didn’t help, especially since she needed to be razor sharp now this all happened. Now, of course Trystane helped her as much as he could, she still needed to figure enough out on herself. There was too much that she needed to do herself, and one of those was figuring out where her sister was. Could that problem really get solved that easily by coincidence? Because even though this all seemed so strange, she could recognize her sister out of a million, if not more. And all of those signs, the way a dress would wrap around her body, the way her dark hair flowed like no other could, the way her movements were smooth but had its little flaws. It could hardly be anyone else. So she took her changes and went for it. It was impulsive, yes, but still she called out to the lady. Eve couldn’t be bothered by anything of the environment. Not how her guards filled up the small store or how the other people looked and reacted to that very thing. It was like slowmotion, seeing how she turned around. Seeing how she also had that point of confusion before she walked towards the lady. The guards wanted to stop her, but aborted that plan as soon as Evelyn walked towards her sister. It couldn’t be anyone else, that wasn’t a confusion anymore. The way she spoke, how her voice reminded her of her own. Accepting the hug she felt arms around her neck and wrapped them around her small shoulders. ’Sas,’ She said again, as she couldn’t believe her mind hadn’t lied to her. ’How are you?!’ |
