Snakes with their pretty faces

HE WORE HIS HATRED LIKE A CRUEL SECOND SKIN Thick mist was pulling on the coat of the man, The black horse Valk was riding on was breathing heavy as he pushed him into a fast gallop. the grass brushing against his strong legs playing with the mist as it was some kind of dance. The steeds neck was heavily arched and with the subtle half moon shining through the roof of leaves on it's coat it almost looked as if the horse was glowing a rainbow. Subtle but noticeable for others who would dare to get close enough to the pair, The mans hood covered most part of his face but under that a manly appearance could be seen. The scar which the king had given him once he banished him has marked him for life. It showed his true believe, he could never hide anymore that he chose for paganism. He could never hide from his true believe anymore. He was the shadow, cold, darkness and always lingering in the shadows of the night. It ran through his blood and once he was banished from court he had to accept it. The king simply threw him from the safety of his position and wealthy as a knight. He had to accept it and swallow it like he never cared about losing his status. But right now there was no need to think about his past. Although not the part where the royal crown was involved with. This part, this part of his past was way more important to him. But still he blamed himself for the shame he gave his family. Valkyrie had heard the rumors that villagers harassed his father and mother, speaking about his sister behind her back and making fun of them like they where some kind of a disgrace. But the blame could be fully layed on Valk his shoulders. His father had managed to keep his head above the water but it was enough. He hadn't seen them in years and they probably would hate him for that. Valk was also curious about the stories that they heard about him. As soon as the pair left the forest and he saw the large estate appear in the corner of his eyes he stopped the stallion from running and made him walk slower. Strangely enough this house never felt as 'home' to him. He had never felt the warmth and love the house could offer him because he left, many years ago. A soft sigh ran through his lips as he made his way towards the large estate. Everyone would probably sleeping right now, so he would wait. Like he always did. -Spec |

Loneliness was an ever present part in her life. She wouldn't and couldn't deny it. It was always there, surounding her like a cloud of smoke. It kept her up for entire nights and made her when she finally found sleep fall into nightmares and disasters. Not a single word of these happenings were reported to her parents however. It was already obvious they were having a hard time, with her brother gone and being the talk of the town both her mother and father reacted in very different ways. Where her father mostly stayed calm and collected her mother was taking it hard and cold. Keeping silent for days before exploding once again. It scared her on a certain level. She herself was just a small girl. In build and age. On a certain level she maybe even blamed herself wondering if she had pushed Valk away from their family. And if he would still be here if she wasn't. But on the other side she didn't want to let those emotions get through to her. She was better than that. Better than anyone and deserved to be here. But even if she believed that herself. Her mind wouldn't let go of this burning feeling inside. Wondering as she stared out of the window into the nightsky what could happen if just a tiny part of the story changed. A minor detail that transformed itself into more and more of an ripple effect. Making the wheels of time spin and turn into her favor. With her brother by their side. Happy. Save and taken care of. Was that too much to ask? Sighing she shook her head and got a hand through her thick dark hair before a small movement in the distance, barely visable and hidden by the night sky made her stare up. It was such a small detail, but her eyes catched it. The hooded man in the distance being carried by a large black stallion. The sight made her twitch and stiffen up a bit an uncomfortable feeling running though her system for a few seconds as she stood nailed to the ground. Slowly she took hold of the bow that was placed beside her and placed an arrow on it pointing it towards the man. She wasn't a good shot, but good enough to warn him to remove himself from the lands. Closing one eye she took aim at the feet of the horse and released the arrow biting her lip hoping she wouldn't hurt the animal in a bad shot. Don't compare her to sunshine and roses when she's clearly orchids and moonlight |

HE WORE HIS HATRED LIKE A CRUEL SECOND SKIN Valkyrie demanded the horse to stop as soon as he got sight of the entrance of the large estate. He remembered it, the large rooms where he used to play hide and seek with his little sister. The ballroom where his father and mother held the most boring 'adult' dances. And him and his sister where supposed to stay in their rooms. -They never did-. They always made their way through the secret passages downstairs. Lurking in the dark halls watching the adults get drunk and laughing about it. And the next day their parents where always wondering why the two of them where so tired. But they always payed attention and they never got caught. Whilst that thought of his past with Spectre ran through his mind the corner of his lips curled a bit up. It was only a soft reflection of his mouth and barely noticeable but more than enough to show that he did have a heart and under all that anger there was still a man who did have feelings. Valkyrie couldn't help but thinking about her. Those nights where probably the best nights out of his life. And she out of all the people in the world. Was the only one he ever missed. A soft sigh ran through his lips as he pushed the large black stallion forward again. He clearly had to wait until the sun would rise so the best thing he could do was to wait under the trees. Taking a nap or so so that he could clear his mind. But before he could even lead his horse towards the trees in the distance Valk heard the rushing sound of something and before he could even react an arrow was pierced into the ground in front of the stallions his hooves which scared himself to death and reared. Valk barely could grab it's manes and hold onto it as he tried to calm down the horse. As soon as the steed has placed his hooves on the ground again Valkyrie let himself 'fall' from the horse and landed on his feet next to the stallion. As he grabbed the reins he made some steps towards the arrow, kneeled and pulled it off the ground. His gaze then made his way up to the estate. Clearly someone knew he was not invited in this house, and it was clear that the person who knew he had entered these grounds was not very fond of him. So instead of pulling his sword out of the holder he raised his hands halfway in the sky walking with the horse towards the house, showing that he was not here to do any harm. Although he would love to pinch some eyes out as a thank you for the arrow which nearly killed his horse. |

In all this time alone in the estate, however much surrounded by her family and yet still utterly alone, she had learned how to take care of herself. Not like a lady had to take care or like her mother had fought to survive, no. It as an sublte inbetween. She was still very much ladylike, tender and small with pleasing looks and a loving smile. But on the other side she had thoughend up a bit, learned how to control a bow and take matters into her own hand. She no longer had just her mouth to save herself with, though, that was still the best way she could protect herself. Besides a bow and words she also tried to find more and more inspiration in the nature every day and found that the plants and flowers slowly but surely started to listen to her commands twisting around her and letting her take over their entire beings. This had resulted in her slowly and carefully creating pieces of art with the floral life which no one seemed able to explain. Maybe one day it would turn into more than just an occasional hobby. Maybe she could use it for more good. Maybe one day she could show Valk that she truly was a strong being. Maybe she could even show Pil that he didn't have to worry about her anymore. And maybe this dangerous man that trespassed on their lands was her first step towards achieving that pride. And as the arrow hit just before the horses hooves the man seemed to jump off and almost vanish into the darkness, making her load a second arrow on her bow which she relaxed a bit as she saw him coming forward with his hands pointed into the air. A sign that he wouldn't do a thing, for now. But he still moved closer towards the estate which made her nervous enough to hold the bow up again and narrowed her eyes trying to find an expression or something to which she could recodnize the man. When the moon finally hit his face in the right spot for her to get a clear view however her world seemed to fade away. Staring straight at Valk. In a single heartbeat she dropped the bow and ran inside and downstairs towards the main enterance, not even caring it was late at night and her parents would be asleep. She ignored the nightguard who asked her if she was okay and pulled the big door open running outside over the pebbles that cut open her feet untill she reached the grassfield and ran on even faster. Tears burning in her eyes as a wide smile crossed her lips. Spreading her arms ready to jump into his. Her big brother had returned. Her big brother who always kept her save. Who she loved so dearly and who had left them all so suddenly. But for all the hate and anger Spec could feel towards some people she held no grudges towards Valk. He would never be able to do a thing wrong in her eyes. Just as long as he returned back to her at the end of the day. And so he had done. He hat returned to her. Her big brother was home. Don't compare her to sunshine and roses when she's clearly orchids and moonlight |

HE WORE HIS HATRED LIKE A CRUEL SECOND SKIN Valkyrie caught himself that he was thinking too much about was happened before he started his journey as a knight at the palace. Everything was so different before he left the estate. And still. This house never offered him the comfort and caring a household should bring a person. Valk has always been the outcast. As he heard, his parents both didn't want them when he was just a child. He was left alone with his father while his mother left and after years and years of living with his father suddenly she came back and claimed herself to be his mother. Nevertheless he never saw her as his mother. That was also one of the reasons why he left. As sudden as the though about his mother came so swiftly it also faded away form his mind. He had forced himself not to care, not to think about anything less than himself or his sister. Because she always been the only joy in his life. Stars had gathered them by thousands above him and a slight touch of the moon could be seen behind a group of smaller clouds. And for a short moment, maybe even a few seconds his face lit up and the dark scar that has damaged his face could be seen. It has been healed over the past few years and bit by bit it faded. But it would never ever leave him. He stood there, with his hands in the sky face to face with the shadow that just shot an arrow at him. His breath was rather heavy as he made some more steps towards the estate. Little did he knew that his sister had recognised him and before he could blink she threw the bow on the ground and left the window opening. Valks face turned into a curious grin as he lowered his hands. Imagine the worst of what would happen right now. Because he was an easy target out there on his own. But he didn't need to wait long until he heard the door being opened and the shadow that just sat in the window frame came towards him. Running, like something was chasing her. As he tilted his head a bit he recognised the small woman. of course, he would recognise her. He would always. Valkyrie let go of the reins on the horse and stepped towards the lady, opening his arms he welcomed her into his grip. And for the first time in a few years he felt the warmth and loving of his sister again. He placed his hand on the back of her head and pressed herself against him. letting his chin rest on her head and closing his eyes for a few seconds. Spectre.. Was the only thing he could bring out right now. |

And suddenly. she was there. In his arms. And the world was okay again. Being alone in the estate with no friends and not a single thing to do was okay again. Being scared by the loud thunder outside or the monsters in her closet was okay again, because he was there to protect her and scare the monsters away. Her big brother had returned home for her and he wouldn't leave anymore. He'd stay with her for now and for forever. She would make him stay. She'd even chain him up if so needed but she'd make him stay here with her. Cuddling up to him she took a deep breath taking in her brothers long lost scent and calmed herself down by the thought of having him returned at her side. And for the first time in what seemed like forever she let herself loosen her emotions and stared up at her brother as tears welled up in her eyes. "I missed you so much big brother." She whispered, her voice shaky as she tried to keep atleast a bit of posture but soon failed at it once more as she started sobbing clutching to his coat to hide herself away. For a second once so small again, against the whole word and with the weight of a family name on her shoulders. She wanted nothing more than to be right here. In this moment completely forgotten by the world and just loved by one of the only 3 men in this world who she could love and trust. Her big brother. Hers. Don't compare her to sunshine and roses when she's clearly orchids and moonlight |
