Vestyn Tenebrae you wanted me to be your anchor Weeks had gone by since that one, fatal day that had changed his life in so many, different ways. Even now, the blonde man still felt the cold touch of grief breathe down his spine, always haunting him – torturing his mind with flashbacks from happenings he did not want to remember. His soul still had to endure the constant waves of unbearable pain. Vestyn was not sure for how much longer he could take it all. The emotions simply became too overwhelming, feeding the impending urge to just turn it all off even more. Sure, his new task as lord of d’Auvergne helped to keep his brain cells occupied for most hours of the day. But at night, when he lay awake staring at the ceiling, the flashbacks began to dance before his blue orbs. Even though they were not as horrible as the constant flow of nightmares as soon as the former prince closed his eyelids, they still managed to torture his already aching heart. It was as if he had stranded in a never-ending circle of pain and despair. A battle he had not the strength for to win it. With every passing second, it became more appealing to him to just shut down completely. To dislodge every single one of his feelings and emotions, until nothing remained in his system. Until then, Vestyn had to keep his act together and prove that he was worthy of his newly gained title. Frequent visits to the capital city of Navarre included. He knew it was of vital importance to maintain good contact with the king himself. Even though Thriumph managed to awaken every nerve in his body, and scare him in some way. The blonde-haired man had gotten relatively used to the king’s rather unkind and frigid ways of handling his nobles. He wasn’t that obliging either, to be honest. The lad may have been once, but the recent events in his life had changed him, and not for the better. The loss of his mother and his birth right had left him a bitter and grieving man, craving nothing more than revenge. His ocean blue eyes, which were once filled with the joy of life and love, had turned dull and empty, as if life had left him long ago – which was, in fact, true in some way. Since the passing of his beloved mother, Vestyn had never felt deader inside, and while his mind held on to that way of life, his heart silently craved for the touch of passion and love. For the touch of a woman’s soft hand once again. Even though Vestyn was sure that he would never love again, his body still needed the distraction from the eternal pain in his damaged soul. Somehow, as if the universe had heard his silent prayers, his attention caught the eyes of a particular, stunning woman in the hallways of the royal castle. Almost automatically, his legs came in motion, bringing him closer to the dark-haired lady. Vestyn made a polite bow, after which he took her feminine hand in his for a few seconds as an act of comity. “My lady, your rather exotic appearance lights up the entire hallway.” spoke the blond-haired lord, while he almost immediately continued, “I’m Vestyn, lord of d’Auvergne. And with whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with?” OOC. Alysanne you didn’t realize that meant i had to drown |
