Travels really did take her half the world away. Her horse breezed under her and with a small smile the white haired girl pet the young mare. She had seen the terrors of this world just as much as the girl herself had. And both had survived them multiple times. Her father may concern himself with taking nations and growing his empire bigger. But she knew what the real enemy was. Something far darker, far more dangerous. Something hunting for blood under the pale moonlight. It was why she was turning her gaze towards Vanaheim now. She needed to know more about the reason why he existed. She needed to know what he could do and most importantly. She needed to know how she could end it all.

As a young child Delaney had made a deal with Avanti, the devil himself in human clothes. She had promised the vampire that her life belonged to his. That she would submit to his whims, let him have her blood as he pleased. But as the years went on and she grew more into the young warrior she was today she knew that that had been a fools bargain. It would end in her death, and if caught on a bad day also the end of her families life.

This had been the main reason for her strife. The will to go on further and search harder for something to stop him. To stop them all. And in this search she had found certain information that seemed all too promising. Ancient vampires. Almost as old as Avanti himself roaming the lands of Vanaheim. How could she never have heard of it before. Like no one bothered to check on these beings. Yet it had been written out in a book, hidden away in the tiny library Falkreath had. Vikings, true to their nature barely concerned themselves with learning what other lands had to offer. Except from the gold ofcourse. Always the gold.

Del didn't know if she would ever become a leader. She was born and raised as one, but with the devil on her heels she knew she couldn't take a city, a land. Even if her pride did not allow her to turn it over to her brother. Her heart and mind equally knew that she could not lead with a monster on her shoulder. She'd either have to finish the vampire lord or hand the land over to her idiotic brothers who could equally tear it to shreds. There was no winning. Atleast not for her. Not untill the man was dead.

And that was why she was here. Staring up at the mountainside while jumping off her mare. Leaving the white thing at the foot of the mountain as she whistled for her dog. The large black beast jumped from the bushes. A fresh kill of rabbig dangling in his mouth and Delaney smiled soft. "You always know what to bring me." She said softly taking the rabbit from his mouth and cut open its belly. It may not be human blood. But she had seen them hunt on animals as well. Blood was blood. And blood was needed to attract a vampire.

Natura nihil frustra facit

After her last meeting with the Guardians, the Huntress was left not only with hope for the future of the village, but a new task, a new mission to complete. It had been centuries since she last roamed the mountains, in fact, since she last left the Guardians’ mansion, and she knew it was fundamental to her, to know the field where she was going to work on. Of course, she had thought of taking this boy on a hunt to test his skills, but she perfectly knew that hunting wasn’t everything that a ruler needed. A ruler had to be industrious, capable of quick thinking and acting correctly to get out of a uncomfortable situation. A ruler had to have wit and wisdom. A ruler had to be strong. Diana was going to test him on all these abilities and even more, but to do so, she had to know what she was working with.

That morning, the redhead left the mansion with the intention of learning about flora and fauna that she might’ve not known. She wasn’t going outside that often in the last centuries and wanted to make sure that everything was as she left it. Otherwise, she was going to learn from what nature had to teach her. Being the Commander of Nature, everyone would expect her to know everything about it, but in fact, Nature didn’t need a commander. Nature taught Diana more than anything or anyone else ever could. She was the one that had to follow and respect it, not vice versa.

Inhaling and exhaling the fresh air that slowly caressed her face once she stepped out of the building, the Huntress immediately started walking. Her steps were slow, because she needed to feel the ground with her bare feet, she had to hear it, because it was talking to her. The vampire’s eyes scanned all her surroundings, trying to spot a difference in any of the plants that she herself so kindly grew out a lot of years before. Plants’ main structure might’ve changed for many reasons, and the redhead was ready to know more about those changes if she ever encountered one.

Being a vampire, Diana had troubles of keeping track of time. She didn’t know at all how many hours had passed when her focus was suddenly taken away by a weird smell, one that wasn’t supposed to be there. ’Blood.’ The word came out of the redhead’s mouth as a quick and feeble whisper. She was crouched when she smelled that scent, but immediately stood back on her legs and turned towards where she thought the smell came from. ’It’s not human.’ She stated then, more to herself than anything. The mountains weren’t exactly a place where the villagers came to hunt, so it had to be something different. Someone was purposely attacking and compromising the small ecosystem of the mountains? Or was it Nature’s fault? Fully knowing that her duty as Commander of Nature also needed her to investigate on that, the redhead inhaled deeply, to have a stronger chance to track the smell correctly.

Moving as she was floating over the ground, gracefully and silently, the vampire finally came to a halt when she eyed the source of the smell. A small rabbit was lying dead in the hands of a silver haired woman. Its belly was cut open and it clearly wasn’t Nature’s work. ’Who are you? What are your matters here?’ The Huntress said, her voice firm but gentle. She knew it couldn’t have been someone from the village. This woman simply had a different aura, a different presence, a different smell even.

Determination stood in her eyes. Her focus on the mountain all while scanning the area around her. The large black dog kept his ears moving beside her. Sometimes she wondered if he knew just as much as she did. If he truly had a mind as bright as any other human. Who knew, perhaps he was a shapeshifter stuck in the body of the black beast. She had heard certain horror stories about such things.

But right now was not the time to chuckle over such thoughts. Right now was a moment of silence before a possible storm. Perhaps even a hurricane if she would find a vampire who wasn't ready to talk. But if her hope served her right than no hungry for human thirsty vampire would spend his time on a mere rabbit. If they could smell that difference ofcourse. And if they couldn't well.. there was always her axe ready at the hip.

It however, did not seem like she had to wait very long. A red haired woman seemed to nearly flow over the mountain as she moved towards Delaney. Grace in every way with the golden light of a setting sun putting her hair nearly on fire. For a few moment's Del's mouth went dry feeling as if she just met an angel. If those creatures existed.. And otherwise she must already be dead and on her way to Odin himself.

The woman spoke. A calm voice instantly making Del somewhat more relaxed. Beside her her dog growled soft putting a paw protective in front of Delaney.. But with a touch of the girls hand on his ear he relaxed and looked up at her.

Slowly she lowered the rabbit and laid it down in front of the dog, wiping the blood off her hand onto her pants and got another through her hair. Taking a deep breath before cocking her head a bit to the side. A slightly arrogant smile turning on her lips. All part of the show. All part of the hope that she would seem not as scared as she felt. "I came to seek you out." She started slowly. Placing her arm on her hip and leaning on it. "You're one of them are you not.. Am I truly that lucky to find one on the first try?"" It was almost more to herself as she chuckled softly shaking her head. "I'm sorry let me introduce myself. My name is Delaney. Daughter of lord Staekar of Skorravir and thus Falkreath." She nodded at her, waiting for a reply. sure that the woman knew atleast what falkreath was even if she did not know the capital. Living so far from any kind of humanity could cloud up the knowledge of other countries.

"And I am here because I need your help."
