For those who value survival, sentimentality is not an option. With a look of complete certainty in her eyes, Arawn finished sharpening the last of her blades. She never left her home with at least three of them tucked away somewhere in her outfit, and the last one she put safely underneath her leather gauntlet. She got up, but didn’t leave the house until she had smeared the black, trademark face paint of Vanaheim around her eyes and underneath her cheekbones. Not much later she headed out into the forest. Word had gotten out of a feral puma stalking the vicinity of Mother’s Watch. Usually, she didn’t care much for rumours, but she’d heard the puma had been wounded. A knife buried inside its shoulder blade. It didn’t take long for her to figure that it’d been the same animal that had wounded her not too long ago. Her left arm still bore the remnants of the claw marks the beast had left there, and Arawn had every intention of getting her revenge. Somewhere, she’d hoped the single stab wound would kill the animal, but apparently, it hadn’t. Now, it was her task to finish the job. Not to mention it would be a nice trophy to bring home. & Aiden |

“IF YOU’RE WRONG AND THERE IS A HELL… THEN I GUESS I’LL SEE YOU THERE.” This would have been a great day. The sun was shining, birds were out and about and everything seemed to be perfectly fine. Were it not that Aiden was eye to eye with a puma. A rather big and hungry one at that. And Aiden was scared. He was no hunter like his mother had been. She had tried desperately to learn him what she could, but it felt like he was a lost cause. Not that it didn't prevent him from trying. His stubborn ass had ventured into the woods, ready to show that he had indeed learned and he could take of himself. But that had taken a wrong turn. The sword he had carried with him was laying on the ground a few meters away, too far for him to reach. This would probably be his last day on this planet. And here he was, on his ass, his back against a tree and his heart ready to stop beating because the adrenaline was getting too much. Aiden rather would close his eyes so he wouldn't see the beast coming for him, but then he wouldn't know when he was truly done for. So all he could do was sit in fear and pray to whoever was listening, that he would live another day. |
