The more I read, the more I acquire
the more certain I am that I know nothing.

Without a strand of doubt her eyes flew over the markings. The words made up one by one, forming perfect sentences inside of her mind. An entire picture which may seemed like gibberish to an untrained eye. But to her it was all the information she needed.

Alaezna had trained her mind body and soul for days on end. Tried to master each language spoken in the land of Fallen Skies. But there was only one language that was her own and that was this. She could speak it fluently and would be able to hold entire conversations with their ancient ancestors. Not that she really could. They were all dead and gone. Risen up towards the afterlife. From their bodies and blood the people nowdays still were able to provide themselves. They were richer, better known with the world and saver thanks to those who once fought for them.

Each in Aztlan honored them, just like she did. Alaezna found that she honored her forfathers the most by learning and rewriting their scripts. Making sure their memory would last forever, and not only that. But their own memory as well. The rule of Zaleera Rayen would be placed in the same histories as those who lived hundreds of years ago. That was her job and her pride. After losing everything Alez didn´t need anything else. Nobody should ask her anything else, this was enough, this was her way to cope and to survive.

Ofcourse stories of her parents were written down as well. Endless drawings made in the memory of their faces. But the more she drew on, the more she realised she barely remembered their faces anymore. Dozens of drawings were scratches and were simply trown out as they didn´t fit the image in her head. She had been too young and the wounds they left in her heart too painfull for her to immediatly draw them. So she was left with the years of forgetting before desperatly trying to remember. Ruining herself even more in the proces.

MANNERS MAKETH MAN
He was looking around for a certain plant that he just couldn't get his hands on. He needed it for a potion, but it looked like he just had to go look around a few market places. It annoyed him that he could not find it in the wild, that what he preferred for all his ingredients. Fresh was always better, on the market place they tend to dry the ingredients, what makes it lose most of it's flavour and properties. It makes him angry when he sees alchemists use dried stuff for their mixes. But who was he to set them in place. He was only 23 years old and most of the older alchemists thought that he wasn't experienced enough to become one. He proved them wrong every single time, but that didn't mean that they believe him.
Niyol sighedwhen he lowered himself out of the tree he has been sitting in for the past hour. He should continue his search, but it didn't looked very promising. He let out a soft growl, when he stepped over some lower plants, trying not to break or snap anything. Living in these parts of the area wasn't suited for everyone, but he was used to it after all these years. After all, he grew up in the biggest city. His blue/green eyes followed one particulair flower, when something else caught his eye. With his hand he pushed the plant aside, to see a young lady sitting on the ground. As silent as possible climbed Niyol in one of the trees at his side and tried to get a glimps of what she was doing. "Yo," he said with a smile on his face. And now we wait for a reaction.

While she had been so socked up in her own notes and sketches she had lost sight of her surroundings. A basic mistake. One that could cost her her life in these places. But a mistake she had made. While staring at her paper, trying to remember all that she had lost. She had completely forgotten where she was and why she was there.

In the first place Alez had walked all the way out here to keep a record of the plants growing around Aztlan at this time of the year. It was just before the monsoon. Meaning tht plans that were alive right now which may not be able to take so much rain would soon dissapear. And she wanted to take them into her own record for later exploration into where else they were growing. But right now all she had written down were the words flower and green. And some incoherent scribbling no one could use.

The realisation that she had drifted off in her dreamland only came when a 'yo' stopped the silence. Immediatly she jumped up, staring around untill her eyes caught the dark haired man smiling at her. In her quick movements she had dropped her papers and before reacting to him in any way she moved down to grab her papers again. Pulling it in a quick pile and pressed them to her chest before getting up again and staring at him. Her eyebrow raised in question but not speaking that question. If he had something important to say he could do so. Otherwise, why would he begin to talk to her? Narrowing her eyes she looked at him. Trying to figure out wether or not she knew him. But she was sure, even if his face seemed somewhat familair, that it was because he probably either lived in Aztlan or he came there regularly. She had never spoken to this man and he hadn't before to her. So why bother now?
