Aaron was born in Navarre as the eldest son of Maximilien d’Agincourt and his wife, Ysabeau. They were a high-class family from Navarre and Aaron was raised as a heir to their fortune. His father taught him everything, from handling money to sword fighting and Aaron grew up to be quite a serious young man. When he came of age, he was drafted for the Navarran army. Aaron fought many battles and proved to be a decent tactician, moving his way up through the military ranks.

A few years later, Aaron’s parents passed away in the flames of the Great Burning. He was forced to leave the army to take his father’s place as the head of the d’Agincourt family and take place in the local council of Lords. Aaron performed his duties without complaint, eventually enjoying the power it gave him. Eventually, he grew hungry for more, calling on his bannermen to attack one of his fellow Lords. Since the attack came completely out of the blue, Aaron and his troops won, claiming the Lord’s settlement as his own. However, his victory didn’t last long.

Before his father had perished, he had arranged for Aaron to marry the daughter of a nearby local Lord and friend of the family, Emilia Locke. Not too long after the attack on the other Lord, they planned their wedding. During the festivities, the armies of the other Lords of the council attacked, slaughtering most of Aaron’s troops. Emilia perished as well, but Aaron himself managed to get away in time. The d’Agincourt family was exiled and scattered across the continent of Fallen Skies, each of the siblings not knowing that their brothers and sister were alive.

Aaron took on the alias of Sawyer Locke and moved to Rhoynar. He barely got by, working occasional jobs as a mercenary and frequently engaging in theft to make a living. A few years passed and he came in contact with a man named Beometh Swavi, who supplied him with a safe job and a false identity to grant him safe passage back to Navarre.
