In depth: Rhysand and his sister lost their parents when they were around ten and twelve years old. Until then, they had been a tight family. Their father was strict and it was obvious he had been through some hardships himself in his earlier life. It was their father that taught them to keep going, no matter the cost or how hard they had to work for it. Their mother was caring, loving them where their father couldn’t. She often taught them the warmer sides of life, telling them to enjoy it whenever they could. The views of their parents both often clashed, yet they stayed together until their passing.

Use: Even though the art of using necromancy is forbidden, Rhysand knows his way with it. The gift showed at early age when he accidentally resurrected a rat he had found half eaten by a cat. From that day on he always seemed to have a fondness for rats and he used them multiple times in his experiments to grow stronger. Only later he truly realised how cruel this was and for a period of time, he stopped training himself.

Now, at the age of 23, Rhysand is a capable necromancer who is skilled enough to reanimate a person's body and let it do his bidding. Smaller animals or creatures are easier for him to control as they lack the will to resist. Rhysand's power is still growing but it goes slowly and sometimes frustrates him. Yet, he doesn’t see his power as a curse and only as a way to help. He understands the dangers of it and since it is forbidden, he hides it for everyone. Only his sister knows.

Hairstyle: Rhysand's hair is messy and wavy. He mostly combs it backwards to get it out of his way which makes it look full and healthy.

Build: Rhys doesn't look like the toughest guy on the block, but nothing is what it seems. Due to his excessive training to become one of the King's Guard, he has a lot of muscle paired with an excellent body shape, sharp features in his face and a rigid posture. Rhysand has a stiff posture, his back and shoulders straight, always on the lookout.

Scars: He has multiple all scattered on his upper body due to his training for the King's Guard. However, there is quite a big scar on his left rib that he refuses to talk about.
Appearance: The elf is usually seen wearing mild colors or white, blending easily with the crowd. He always has his sword with him, often resting his hand upon it. As a King’s Guard he is usually seen wearing his uniform, even when he is not on duty.
Other notable features: Due to his race being an elf, he has pointy ears and has lived longer than the actual age he appears to be.

Rhysand has different layers he shows to different people. When on duty he is star, cold and distant, knowing what his purpose is and what he has to fulfill. He dislikes smalltalk and rather focuses on his task rather than joining his colleagues for some banter. Often, he likes to be alone and ponders about what is outside the lands of Navarre, since he has never left his country and probably never will due to his occupation.
But outside the King's Guard and with friends, Rhys is a fun, goofy guy who hides behind his smile. Although he seems open, he hides a lot of his past and troubles with jokes and laughter, almost never being honest about how he really feels. This facade is sometimes hard to put on and he sometimes can be seen irritated or moody. While he likes to be around people and enjoy the time they spend to get to know each other, he rather keeps them at distance, afraid of them learning about his magic or losing them.
Rhys is loyal and not easily to break. Once you have him as a friend, he will protect you until his death.Duty goes above feelings and Rhys will carry out any order given to him.
