Aella Vaughn

➤ Aella was born in Nymmerwell, City of Aztlan. Her mother had elemental control as her power and so was her dad. So it was pretty weird that she would have telekinesis as her power. At least, that’s when they found out. Her father tried to make her create something, a whirlwind, a plant, water, or fire. Anything related to elemental control, he was determined that she was just like him and would follow the steps of her family name. Alas, it never happened. At the age of 10 she still hasn’t find out how to create something. Until she had her first fight with her mother about wanting to go outside with friends on her own. That was how she suddenly threw a plate to the wall, without touching it. It made her father snap and tug her into her room by her hair. Not only blinded by the anger, but also by disappointment. The possibility that Aella was a misfit in this world. He wanted her to succeed and bring honor in the family. Which she refused.

At the age of 12, her sister was born; Cienta. Her father and her mother were arguing about something that soon escalated into a fight. Aella tried to force them apart, but because there was no one to help her with her powers, she pushed the table towards her dad, nearly crushing him. But luckily, or not, nothing bad happened. Instead, her father ran up to her and grabbed her by the arm. This was a new way of disciplining the kids, apparently. He pulled her into a room and used his elemental controls, fire, to scare her into a corner. If she didn’t obey, he would burn a part of her skin. She didn’t believe her own father would do such thing, but still remained silent about it.

When she turned 16, she began to get an idea that she was indeed not like the others. Her family was rich enough, but still, it felt like she didn’t get what she wanted. She wanted to earn her own stuff, to get them herself. And because she never got any money due to her being underage, she began to steal things. It was at first innocent stuff. Like apples or carrots. But eventually she began to find her powers useful in this. For once. She began to steal more stuff. She stole jewels from people, from shop booths. Stole money. Stole alcohol. Anything that she wanted and needed, she would get.

For an amateur, it wasn’t that bad. But it wasn’t like she would get away with everything. Aella decided to make her horizon bigger, and began to travel to places. Like Falkreath, Valyria, and even Rhoynar. That’s how she could steal without really facing the consequences of someone knowing her.
In Rhoynar she swore that this was the last time she would steal something, a lie, of course. Because that’s where her plans changed drastically. She was determined she could steal all the money from a shop booth. The person didn’t buy anything of her threats and she eventually pulled out a gun she stole from her father’s place. But there was another yell from the other side of the street, and before she had any idea what was going on. An unknown boy had made his way through the crowd, clearly he was here as well for the same reason. Aella dropped the gun and ran after him, trusting that he probably had a better coordination around this place. Unfortunately, she fell and tugged him along with her.
The people there finally caught them and threw them in a cell. Just for a night or two until they decided what to do. Because they were both still teenagers.

That night it was only bickering and arguing about who’s fault it was. Until they somehow came to a topic that made the both calm down. Agreeing with each other that they had to get out of here very fast. Eventually Aella found out that the boy’s name was Kaz, and he lived in Rhoynar. And apparently he was very god at picking locks. Because before the Dawn, they managed to escape the prison. Creating more havoc with the people chasing after them.
When they managed to outsmart them, Aella found that it was definitely time to go home since her dad would definitely not be happy with this.

And indeed, the abuse went on for years and years. Meanwhile, she had created a spark with Kaz. Something that only he could give her. And the more she stayed with him, the less she was with her family.
When she turned 18, she met a guy at a bar, he was a bit older than her. But he somehow got her interest. And thus, after some months of talking, they got a spark between their friendship. Unfortunately, that spark didn’t last for long when she found out she was pregnant. He demanded her to run away with him, to at least let him take the kid. But she refused, making him more and more angry. He grabbed a gun, she managed to take it from him, and when he tried to take it back, she shot him down in full panic.

That was the last time the family Vaughn had seen her. She went to Rhoynar, to Kaz where she asked him to help him with the body. She demanded him to keep quiet, which he did as they buried the body.

She decided to stay with Kaz, since the two seemed to be comfortable enough with each other. Though, after a month or so, she left Rhoynar to stay in Falkreath due to ‘family problems’. A lie, of course. Because no way that he would know about the child. She soon gave birth to a son, Dashiell. Aella didn’t even take the time to keep him, trusting him with one of her good friends, Viktor Stålberg, before going back to business.

At the age of 20, the beginning of the year, the two got into a difficult situation with pirates. They were on the brink of dying when Kaz told her something about, “If we make it, I want you to marry me.” She didn’t take it seriously. But when she finally managed to get a pocket knife from a shelf to free them from the ropes.
And apparently, who knew Kaz was good in following his promises? Because, before she knew it, they both had a ring around their finger. She had no idea wether they were too young or just downright being bold. She only knew that plans were changed. But you didn’t hear her complain.

That was until a half year after, maybe a couple of months before they were actually going to get married. They both had made a deal with a shady gang of thieves after some small discussions. But something seemed fishy about the way they were behaving. Though she remained quiet about it. Maybe it was just her.

Apparently she was wrong.

The gang had changed the deal without their approval. Asking for way more than they both could give. Aella was about to fight when they pulled out a gun. Something she couldn’t fight against. So she tugged on Kaz’ arm. But because of the sudden timing, they managed to stab him multiple times in the stomach. She wanted to tug him away from the danger. But when they pointed a gun at her it gave her one painful push to a decision. And that was running away.

Since then no one has heard from her. She took a quick place in Valyria and still made a living by stealing. Even seducing men to the point of suddenly killing them and stealing their stuff. It was only a matter of survival after all.
