In depth: Elodie is a lonely individual. She doesn’t know what affection is and never understood the concept of family. She wishes to blend in, but that’s pretty hard for her, due to her uncommon looks. On the other hand though, her looks make her desirable and sometimes she takes advantage of that, especially when she’s in the mood for sex. She thinks over and over again before acting on a situation or saying anything and she wishes that could be different, but she just can’t help it. She’s an ephemeral presence that lets situations overwhelm her, because she doesn’t know how to act to fix them when she’s not in advantageous position.

Her parents deaths and the way she was treated by her stepfather afterwards, wounded her deeply. She grew up without anyone to confide in, anyone she could talk about anything, from her the most silly problems, to her physical and mental changes throughout her teenagehood. She learned how to live by herself and that brought her to a point where she stopped believing anyone could actually help her or even care about her. Elodie is now completely disinterested in what people think of her and lives her life following her own rules, at the same time though, she’s not a free spirit at all. She tends to set boundaries and doesn’t dare to cross them because she knows she couldn’t handle a problem by herself right away, since she needs to think at least ten times before she is sure she can do or say something.

• HISTORY
Born in Nordshal in a rainy day, Elodie was gifted with the family everyone would love to have. Her father, Léon was a caring, loving and hardworking husband and all he ever wanted was to love his daughter as much as he loved Aurélie who, when she had her daughter, felt like she had accomplished the most important goal in her life. Their happiness didn’t last as long as they would’ve wanted though, because Léon fell ill all of a sudden and not even a year after Elodie was born, he died without anyone being able to help him. Unexpectedly, Aurélie was able to fall in love with another man after Léon’s death, giving herself and her daughter another person who they could rely on. Soon, she was carrying another child and it somehow felt like they were going to have a happy life after all, but not everything goes as we want them to go, and due to complications during her labor, Aurélie died as well, leaving the little two-years-old with her stepfather and her stepbrother.

If it wasn’t for the people in the village that knew Elodie’s parents and the girl’s stepbrother, she wouldn’t have survived her stepfather’s verbal abuses. He was apparently too aware of the fact that Elodie wasn’t his daughter, that Aurélie had this child with another man, and the little girl resembled her father too much for him to forget that and try to treat her as if she was his own daughter. At the same time though, her bond with her stepbrother grew tighter day by day, with them teaming up against the boy’s father and playing together all the time, even when they weren’t allowed to. They were ‘partners in crime’ that loved to do things together whether they were simply playing outside or learning new things.

Elodie was 12 when her stepfather decided she had too much from her life and left, taking her brother with him. Abandoned again, she had to find the strength to go on with her life without giving it the chance to crumble apart. Her biological parents left her due to natural causes, but she just couldn’t understand why this man hated her so much. Nordshal’s inhabitants tried to make her feel welcomed in their homes, but she was too aware of the fact that she could’ve never been part of a ‘real family’, she could’ve never been part of someone else’s life anymore, that’s why she started keeping her distance from everyone in the village. The only person she actually kept in touch with, was her brother; one day she received a letter from him and their exchange never ended.

For most of her life, the girl lived locked down in her house, trying to avoid social interactions as much as possible; that’s why she doesn’t have a job nor a specific hobby. Whenever she found the courage to open the front door and step outside, she simply felt uncomfortable. People would stare at her, at what she had become, at her physical changes, not knowing how deeply that affected her. Being self aware was the thing she hated the most, until she discovered that her appearance, something that she always saw as a bad thing, wasn’t exactly that bad. Boys liked her and she knew she could use that to her advantage… Only that she didn’t and still doesn’t know how exactly.

Since she never left her home and never met anyone that could’ve needed help, she doesn’t know that she can heal others. Her magic isn’t developed and she still has to discover what she can do with it and how.
