It was every morning the same peaceful journey, a journey he started little before the sun started to climb up, a journeys that lasted during that whole climb. It was one of the most beautiful things to see, a sunrise, it always reminded him of the beautiful things this earth had to offer. His horse started to knew the way to Archeon, like an automatic pilot it walked over dusty roads, the sun chasing away every little bit of cold the night had left behind. It was a routine for him, going to Archeon to collect task or just get the latest news before he would position himself back between the people of Valyria. Axis was a people person, he always had supported the lower, find a certain peace in helping around. As a guard to Valyria that was exact what he had to do, keep an eye out, keep the people safe.

The sun was burning, causing the last bit of ice to melt in the high north. He noticed already that the rivers where getting higher, now there were reports that they were floating over. Given he was going back from where he came anyway he offered to go see the damage the water did. Many people kept it stored, but not all the houses stood so far away from the water. Only the image of houses under water or the strong current could give few problems, not only for the people, but also for the animals, even for people who had a little bad in mind.

His black horse snorted, galloping away from Archeon to the closest river running by, seeing how the banks where already floating here he could only image how it would be between the small parts. Water splashed up as his horse followed the river further down into the country. His blue eyes scouted the surface, looking for igguralities or people in trouble but so far the only thing he saw was people storing water for later use. Axis nodded to some of the villagers, stopping while he let himself slide out of the saddle he gave his horse some time to drink. It was then that he noticed a strange noise, an animal? Child? Person? Axis looked over his horse his back to the surroundings, trying to determine from where the noise came.

Nature was a general interest of him, the bad and the good. That the water floated was because of the summer closing in, melting ice caps resulting in this. And he loved that small little detail. Mother nature was truly a gift. Axis could spend a lot of time overthinking the little aspects and flaws of nature. It didn’t came always with those small gestures … he always thought vampires and werewolves were a side effect of nature being mistreated. He knew there was a lot he still didn’t understood, but he loved spending his time to it. It gave him a way to be closer with the people, to have a certain way of speculating about things.

As he let himself slide out of the saddle his horse almost immediately stepped forward, lowering his neck to the water that float over the river banks. Axis rested his hand on the saddle, keeping the reins up before his own horse could get into trouble, slightly smiling as he saw his horse swallow the fresh water out of the river. Just as he wanted to crouched down for some water for himself a noise turned him around. Looking over his horse his back he saw another horse nearby. Another horse was trying to find some attention and Axis looked only back to his one to see there wasn’t any reaction, he kept on drinking. The woman aside the horse made eye contact, excusing herself over the behavior. He chuckled, looking back to his horse. ‘And mine isn’t even responding.’ He reacted, walking around the back of his horse that now was looking over to the other. The slight joke she made made Axis smile softly. ‘We are not easily scared.’ Axis assured her. He looked from her to the horse. ‘You travel a lot?’ He asked politely. ‘Given he doesn’t see much other horses.’ He followed rather quick to not give an impression he was interrogating her. Some kids where watching her horse that still tried to get some attention but just as Axis his horse never give in to that quickly.
