You'll never make it if you don't learn how to bend

Eventually all good things came to an end. He had quite enjoyed his conversation with the waitress, against his own expectations. To be honest, he hadn’t thought he would find a like-minded individual at a bar, out of all places. But he felt satisfied to know that his faith was still alive in Brightwater Keep. Another reason to like this place more than Sunfall. Even though he would have wanted to spend some more time here, it was time to go. He had business to take care off. So after saying goodbye, the young captain got up and started walking towards the exit. When passing some chick sitting at another table, she suddenly got up, which startled him a bit. Unexpectedly she ran into him, spilling her drink all over them. “Oh my god I am so sorry.” She exclaimed. Romeo sighed deeply. ”For fuck’s sake, can’t you watch where you’re going?” He grumbled, obviously annoyed, while he wiped some liquor off of his face.

She was lucky he didn’t want to start a fight in here. The alcohol in his system also contained the obvious trigger of her touching him without a warning. Normally he would be freaking out already, but now he was just annoyed. It happened from time to time, but no one liked to be showered with liquor. It was supposed to go down his throat, not dripping off of his face. His irritated reaction caused some panic with the blonde. She excused herself again, which made him shrug. ”It’s fine, just be more careful next time”, He sighed, bright amber eyes focussing on hers while he spoke. “I… We should get that cleaned up. It’ll stain,” She then suggested. Slowly he rubbed through his hair. ”I’ve had worse, don’t bother”, He said, shaking his head slightly. If it was really ruined, he could throw it away. No big deal.

All eyes in the room were directed at them, and he felt slightly uncomfortable. He wasn’t looking for any trouble. Couldn’t she just say sorry and leave? No, she had to insist on cleaning his clothes. He would’ve said no again, but then she mentioned paying for it. That sure raised his interest. Easy money was always welcome. He would gladly burn his shirt if that meant getting some free gold. ”Alright then. Lead the way”, He said, looking around for a second. The faster they were out here, the better. He would feel much more at ease away from the disapproving gaze of the crowd. As if it was his fault that she had been so clumsy!

Her appearance made him wonder what a girl like her was doing in a bar like this one. She seemed way out of place here, with her innocent looks and almost fragile demeanor. If he had been normal, he would probably feel bad for his rude words. But alas, he was still Romeo and he didn’t really give a fuck. It was only the promise of sweet coin that eventually persuaded him. She seemed rather happy about his decision, as were the few people that were listening to their conversation. He didn’t really understand why, but he also didn’t feel the need to investigate that. He also saw no danger in the situation, which he probably would regret later.

The young man followed the other through an alley, and found out she was actually speaking the truth of living nearby. “I’m sorry for the mess,” She said, while stepping aside so he could walk in first. He didn’t think twice about it and stepped inside. He made his way through the hallway, right into a room that looked like a living room, only was it covered in books. Nothing that sparked his interest though, since he couldn’t read anyways. ”You live in a damn library”, He noted. It kind of reminded him of Hati’s room. The vampire’s space was also covered in books all the time.

The mess didn’t really bother him at all. His own cabin kind of looked like this as well, his personal belongings spread throughout in something he liked to call an ‘organised chaos’. The young captain looked around for a bit, but turned his gaze towards her when she called him by his name. A bit confused he watched her disappear into another room, after which she returned with two glasses of water. ”Yeah”, He confirmed her thought. But how.. How did she know? It got to a point of being straight up worrisome when she asked him about the Drowned God. It didn’t take long for him to conclude she had been listening to his conversation with Annalise earlier.

Only now he realised her intentions might be not as pure as he had initially thought. Was it too late? Find out next week on- Wait no. Okay. Focus. Romeo paced back to the front door, only to find it locked and probably too firm for him to kick in. He turned around at the blonde, his amber eyes expressing anger. She was still leaning casually against the closet, sipping from the glass of water. As if it was normal to lure a man inside her house and then lock the door behind him. ”Let me out”, He growled. He didn’t like being locked up, at all, so she better let him go before bad things happened.

This whole situation had taken a turn, and it was not for the better. He felt the panic rise in his chest, but there was no way he would show fear. He was much taller than her, obviously stronger as well, and he was armed. So he just demanded her to let him go. “That would be against the point of getting you here, wouldn’t it?” She noted, the tone in her voice obviously amused. No shit. But he wasn’t planning on staying either. Romeo followed her movements like a hawk. Suddenly she had a syringe in her hand, which she was now testing on any defects. The clear liquid pouring out of the needle sent a shiver down his spine.

“So, darling,” She said, but he didn’t take his eyes of the ‘weapon’ she held. “I asked something.” She continued. He didn’t quite get her question though. If she was so interested in his God, then why would she threaten him? ”Didn’t you hear enough already when you were spying on me?” He retorted. After that he pulled out a dagger with a thin, long blade. ”Last chance to let me go”, He growled. She might stab him with the needle, but she would get hurt in the process as well, he would make sure of that.

If she decided to threaten him with a syringe, he would answer her actions accordingly. Both of them could play this game. She moved slowly towards the table, sitting down on it with the needle still in her hands. Romeo didn’t move at all, he just observed her. It was a good thing she was moving slow, as it didn’t trigger any action from his side. Yet. It didn’t seem as if she would let him out though. But she quickly revealed the reason why. “What if I can finance whatever plans you have for this mess?” She said. Again, the promise of money. But she had betrayed him once already. Romeo crossed his arms, the blade still in his hands but not obviously pointed at her anymore. ”If you really think I would trust you after this, then you’re even more delusional than I first thought”, He replied. But, she had his attention. If she played it right, he might reconsider his plan to plunge his knife in her stomach.
