A whole new world

Elayne. It had been a full day since she had seen the woman at the party. Of course, she would have loved to head to the woman sooner, but there was still so much to do. So many people who required her attention, so many things that still needed to be figured out. She was already feeling lucky that she was able to lie down at night and ignore her duties until the next morning, after which it all started again. Soon, she told herself, it would all be better. The sudden change of reign had just been harsh and, being the way she was, she had decided to take most things on herself. After all, who else was there to trust?

Eventually, she had decided to say fuck it and made her way to the room in which Elayne was staying. It was quite different from the basement the girl had spent the past few years of her life in and considering her mental state, Allison wasn’t quite sure which the girl would prefer. But, she would get used to it. As this was, hopefully, a permanent change. There was no part of her that was planning to move back to the cottage in Falkreath. At least not for anything other than a simple holiday. The castle was their home now and they had to get used to this as soon as possible.

A careful knock on the door should alert Elayne of her presence. “Ellie?” she asked, before opening the door.

Of course, Allison was happy to see her friend in good shape. Especially with how busy she had been, as she had not been given the chance to check up on the redhead. Luckily, the woman had proven to be well capable of taking care of herself in all the time she had needed to spend alone, all by herself, in Falkreath. All while Allison, as per usual, had been too busy with work. It was tragic and somewhere, the woman could see the irony in it all. For most of her life she hated her father because he abandoned his family, too busy caring about his work. And here she was, doing exactly what she had despised. Not just to Elayne, but to Kaz too. Only coming to him when she was too tired to work on. Slowly but surely, she was turning into her father. Something she needed to realize sooner rather than later.

Allison closed the door behind her and smiled as Elayne asked her if she was still busy. “I probably will forever be,” she laughed, shaking her head softly. “Which is exactly why we needed to move here. So I can spend time with you and our friends while working,” she went on, smiling as she always did. Falkreath was too far away, in a place where she had very little business. This castle held almost everything she needed. From the books to the herbs. And not just that. It was located in Rhoynar, where she found most of her business too. “But I have time now,” she assured the woman. Not really, but she’d make it.
