Pre-forum history
Allen was born in one of the more wealthy and established brothels of Brightwater Keep in Rhoynar. His mother, a lady that worked there, gave him away to a friend of hers, who could take care of him while he was very young, to make sure she would be able to still do her job. Riyana always kept taking care of her son however, which is why he would eventually come to live with her when he was old enough to manage on his own for periods of time. She never lied about who his father was, although he had never seen him and obviously his parents never were in a formal relationship as she was a lady of pleasure. Even though his mother working in a brothel, Allen had a good childhood. Not only did his mother loved him dearly, but so did her colleagues, who were dubbed his 'aunts'. He would often get gifts from them and have them looking after him on days his mother was busy. Allen grew up to be a very friendly, fun loving boy, with a great mind while being a bit clumsy at times.

Life was not that rough, until his father came around. Riyana had never hidden the fact about who Allen's father was and so it was quite easy for Aeron Medici to track down his son. Allen was taken from his mother to train with his father, which namely meant the boy getting blamed for the troubles his father was causing. From there on out, life became less fun and more of a battle to keep up and stay alive. In one of the incidents caused by Aeron, Allen was cut across his right eye, causing him to be blind on that side. After a few years of following his father everywhere, Aeron suddenly disappeared, leaving Allen behind. The boy had not lost his kind spirit, but learned to be more cautious around people and formed a tougher side to his personality.

Because he had nowhere to go, Allen returned to his mother, who was overjoyed to see him again. She took care of him a little longer, while he studied alchemy and worked to earn some money of his own. Eventually he moved out and started travelling, researching more about alchemy and history on his way through Fallen Skies.
