When the sun falls the night comes alive [Lestat]
zo jan 14, 2018 10:00 pm
The truth doesn’t matter The soft rhythmic sounds of the waves crashing into the sand brought Evelyn some peace. It was the dance of the waters, the sound of the ocean at his most subtle way. Knowing, and even more not-knowing what laid beneath there were the light couldn’t reach, the little waves were just the softest touch. Eve could look at it for hours at a time, she always had. She grew up with the sea surrounding. That sea with all of its terrors, with not only the water itself to fear but whatever lived in the deep water as well. She could always see the beauty within, not only at the quietest days, also when the sea wanted to roar up in storms from time to time. With a slow pace and small steps Evelyn moved over the boulevard that laid directly with the seas. At the end of the horizon she could see the busy port with incoming and exiting ships. Surely there were ones from Cois with it, her island of origin. Absently Eve found herself staring at the ships, that were almost even rhythmic as the waves next to her. She thought about her arrival at Brightwater Keep, that was only a few weeks ago. It felt like years with the events that had been going on. At the one moment she was taking a drink in a local bar, the second she got poisoned and the third she got taken care of by the Duke of Rhoynar. Not that she didn’t appreciated that, in the contrary. She had been taken in as if she was family, but this day she needed to get out of court. Maybe to gather her thoughts, maybe just to stare at the ships that sailed in. Even now she needed to be cautious, she was technically dead for Cois and if anyone would see her, it would complicate things even more. Clearly sunken in her mind she almost missed the end of the boulevard, bordered by a stone half wall. Abruptly Eve turned her dreamy gaze towards the foreground stopping just in time. As she looked around she saw that the streets were nearly empty, probably because everyone was headed home to get some dinner before the nightlife started. It was probably the time for her to see if she could find any place where she could eat, or return to the castle. After a few more moments of gazing towards the ocean she decided to head into the city a bit more to get some food. With the same pace she walked towards the first alleys to get to a bar, her gaze as dreamy away as before. |

"Oh my dear Magnus, why did you have to kill yourself. You see, life without you is just so boring. It's kinda harsh to leave a fledgling alone, to let him figure his fate out all by himself. You see, I turned out to be a rather crappy vampire. Just a monster, making a joke out out of everything." Lestat sighed and than snorted at his own words. The way he lived was just a way for himself to keep himself going. Because, what kind of meaning could immortality have? You just stayed alive until a stronger being figured out how to kill you. But otherwise, you wouldn't die. Sickness did not exist for vampires, accidents did not exist as well. Your head had to be cut off, or you had to be burned down to ashes. Otherwise you just wouldn't die. Lestat did wonder how death would feel like, did you experience it and was there a something like an afterlife? And if there was, what was the afterlife for evil, dark creatures like him? Or would it all just end? Lestat didn't think about such nonsense much, but sometimes it would just crawl into his mind and sorta terrorize him, until he found a distraction.
And that was exactly what he was going to do. Searching for a distraction. He'd left his manor, after giving his slaves a few jobs. He had moved to the boulevard, were he had sat down and waited until something interesting would catch his eyes. There were loads of people, but nothing was interesting enough for him to approach. Just like the events around him. Everything was just normal and there was nothing special to be seen. No abnormalities. Until he saw a girl almost walking herself off the cliff. Well, that was definitely abnormal. Lestat stood up and he moved toward her with an inhuman speed. He stopped when he was just behind her, ready to grab her, just in case if he startled her. "Dreaming is something for the night, when you're in your bed, sleeping, otherwise you might end up dead," he decided to say. He wanted this conversation to become interesting. And maybe he could take a bite from her, since he did feel hungry. And let this young woman just be the kind of woman he preferred.

The truth doesn’t matter After those few moments of almost stumbling over the edge of the boulevard she looked down over the border. It was quite a steep cliff, ending into the crushing waves that threw themselves into the stones. Looking up again Eve looked around, to see if anyone had seen the little stupid thing she had just done, but it seemed like the emptying streets didn’t notice. But just as the lady turned around a man showed up. He had the element of surprise, making her step back until she felt the stone border against her heel. She was sure nobody was around, or had her attention been so far away that she didn’t hear him coming? Confused Evelyn her green-brown eyes looked up, scanning the man that made her hearth jump up for a few seconds. The voice she heard startled her even more, in the same shock as she was before. Her hearth still jumping in her chest. ’Well, dreaming can be just fine in the day as well.’ Evelyn answered after taking a few moments to gather herself again. Her eyes searched further, looking curious as she was. Still, there was something, even though the surprise could very much be her being still a bit fuzzy from all the events that happened. She was pretty sure the poison had left her body, since she felt much better, but of course she wasn’t the expert on that part. ’Just not too long.’ Eve quickly said, realizing that she had gone quiet after her first sentence. ’Or on the ends of boulevards.’ She looked back after her, gazing into the depth the cliff had. It was close or her father was right about her being dead, and that wasn’t exactly her plan. |

To him ladies weren’t much more than just a good meal. He didn’t think of them as anything more. They pretended to be strong, but mostly they were just weak and dependent of men. They were good actresses though, and he also wanted to admit that they were beautiful and soft. You could say that they were fine nurses too, good at caring, but since that wasn’t something he needed, he didn’t care and saw them as food and nothing more. One thing was certain, Lestat preferred men. He saw men as strong and independent, ruthless and rough, less dramatic and more reasonable. That did not apply to every man, though, but to most it did. Throughout his life, Lestat had met more interesting men than women.
Just like now. He was standing in front of a girl who had walked herself almost of the cliff into those crushing waves that threw themselves against the rocks. It would’ve been her death. It pleased him to see she was surprised that he had showed up. Of course, the first time she had looked around, there hadn’t been anyone, and now, there he was. A tall man, pale looking, especially in the sunlight. She stepped back and Lestat reached out to her, preventing her from falling. He could sense how tense she was. It made him feel delighted. The tension of people gave him energy.
When he spoke, his voice sounded like the dark himself, eerie and mysterious. She seemed to be in some kind of shock and hearing him talk clearly frightened her even more. He smiled. Her reply made him raise his eyebrow. He stayed quiet while he observed her. She was slim and tall, and obviously beautiful. He liked the curiosity in her eyes and the nervous, fuzzy vibe that came of her. Just when Lestat wanted to answer her words, she had decided to add some words to her last sentence. He laughed softly and took her arm, while he held her gaze in the hope that she would just let it happen. “Then we better step back from the edge, don’t you think?” He spoke, his voice soft, hypnotizing and dark, just like his gaze. He wanted to take her with him.

The truth doesn’t matter The two green-brownish eyes of the lady observed more. Curious as her nature had within. Taking some moments to take everything about him in. After those few moments she concluded something was off. There was something about this man, standing in front of her that didn’t quite fit. But it wasn’t something she could lay her finger on, she could not explain what it was. Or how true it was, a sensation she hadn’t had before. She wondered if it had something to do with her recent poison event, or if it really was completely new thing. It made her senses shaper, just to be sure. Of course, with her position, she had man come at her before. Those were usually luring for power, even though it was only for a small island like Cois. With her words Eve listened very carefully. Hearing his voice speak she couldn’t help but feel the cold shivers run down her back. There definitely was something about this man, she decided it wasn’t only her cloudiness that caused this confusion. The man had previously reached out for her, but now made his contact with her arm. The weird sensation went on, her eyes squinting for a moment. There was something inside of her that didn’t trust all of this, but why or how she came up with that was one big question mark. But the coldness his touch gave made her pull her arm in as she stepped away from the edge hearing his words. ’That seems to be a very good idea, sir.’ Eve could still feel the spot where his fingers had touched her, making her all the more confused. With that came the curiosity again, that had never backed off. ’Were you around the whole time?’ The lady just asked, with her head tilted slightly. What was there going on here? |
