Hathor used to live in a rather small house at the borders of Sunfall. She and her parents only had a small kitchen, a table to sit and eat at and two small bedrooms to sleep at. Eventually she lost both her parents, one due to an accident and another due to illness, which brought the then 9 year old girl to an orphanage. Eventually, at the age of 11, she moved into a new chamber at the church of the Priests of Sol and ever since that day she has lived there.
Magic: Seithr
Hathor has the ability to see into the future. Her visions can happen at any given time; they sometimes even occur by touching another person or just at random when she's in the middle of a conversation. She has some control over these visions and is able to see into the future at will from time to time, but usually it happens randomly.
Personality I am fearless, because I've been afraid. |
Likes: Sun, Priests of Sol, her religion, children, honesty, people who follow the rules of her religion, hot summers, soft winters, the ocean, golden and white colors, sunrise, a bright nightsky, children.
Dislikes: Pirates, vampires, werewolves, eclipses, arrogance, greed, Sunfall's governor or anyone else who thinks they can be in charge of her and her priests, men who think they are 'better than women', liars, people not being straight to the point.
Ambitions:
Fears: Losing faith, failing at bringing Sol's message to mankind.
Hathor can best be described by the following quote:
"She is both hellfire and holy water and the flavor you taste depends on how you treat her."
Some might know her as a very caring, sweet and friendly young lady. One who is ready to offer her hand selflessly to help anyone out of trouble, to read a book to the orphans, to give money to charity causes and even keeps an eye on the poor, taking care of them when needed. But others might know her as fierce, hateful and without any censors: a complete bitch. She can make your life a tough one if she wants to, she can be a pain in the ass to the rich who don't care about the poor or anyone actually who decides to stand in her way. She is hard, fierce and willing to go down for whatever cause she fights for.
For the unfortunate children of Sunfall who lost their parents, she tends to be very gentle and caring, almost like a mother. Of course, as a 27 year old woman who can never has children, she dares to function as a mother for these children, knowing she will never have any of her own.

Appearance TO be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid. |
Her eyes are green and gold colors intertwined. She has a fair skincolor, that somehow never seems to burn in the sun. Her hair is usually of a light blonde/white color. Hathor is only 1.65m tall and can be described as a petite and rather fragile looking woman. One would almost be too afraid to touch her too roughly, as if she would break at the slightest of pressure. She however, has this determined and fierce look in her eyes that might make up to that.
Tattoos
Symbol of Sol Invictus on her upper back in the middle
Small tattoo of flying birds on her left wrist
Tattoo of an owl on her lower right arm.
Birds are holy to the followers of Sol, but to Hathor owl's have a special meaning as well.
"The owl is a unique bird that’s mostly associated with wisdom and knowledge. Rather than intellectual wisdom, though, owls are connected with the wisdom of the soul. With the ability to see in the darkness, it represents the idea of seeing beyond illusion, masks and deception. The owl can see what others cannot, which is the essence of true wisdom.
Owl comes across as a symbol of hope that one has the ability to find way in great darkness, just as the owl traverses great distances through murky and mysterious nights. It stands as the testimony that there is always light in the darkest of darkness, one just needs to enhance one’s vision and expand one’s horizons to get to it. In this way, owls stand as the ultimate symbols of vision and hope."
Clothing
Hathor's clothing usually exists of white colors, mixed with some golden accessories. She can often be found wearing a dress.
Accessories
As Sol Invictus, the woman can usually be found wearing golden accessoires, varying from golden necklaces, to even some golden paintings all over her body. It is however very obvious that she tends to be a little more subtile in wearing her accessories and make-up than her Priests of Sol, who are actually quite extravagant in their accesories and clothing. She usually only wears her extravagent make-up when there is some sort of important ceremony.

Beliefs & Religion And she would bow to no-one. |
Sol Invictus
The Belief in the Sun
Hathor believes in the fact that there is nothing without the sun. No food, no water, no Rhoynar, no Fallen Skies, no humans or anything else. Sol seems to speak to her through her Seithr abilities, showing her parts of the future, sometimes rather subtle.
More about the religion to be determined

History I am the hero of this story, I do not need to be saved. |
// Hathor was born in the lower class of Sunfall. Her father took on many jobs to provide his family of enough food to survive, while her mother stayed at home to take care of their newborn daughter. They lived in a tiny house - containing only two small bedrooms, a little kitchen and a table to eat at - at the borders of Sunfall.
// At the age of three, Hathor lost her father due to a terrible accident he suffered while working. Due to the fact that they had little money to spend, her father could not afford the extensive healthcare the upperclass could; he would have survived otherwise, but his wound started to infect after a few days and eventually the infection took his life, leaving Hathor and her mother behind. All of the sudden there was no more income and therefore no more food for the both of them, forcing Hathor’s mother to take on three jobs, all the while needing to take care of her three-year-old daughter. The long workdays and the time she had to spend taking care and raising her daughter, eventually started to break her mother. She got more and more tired every day and was able to do less and less work efficiently. Eventually she even got fired from two of her jobs, as there were other, more healthy people available to start working. Due to this, the amount of money ánd therefore the amount of food they could buy, decreased extremely.
// Hathor was six years old when her mother decided to take her to an orphanage: she saw this as the only and last chance she could give her daughter at life. Hathor was left at the door of the orphanage, a six year old child crying for her mother.. but her mother never returned to her. Many say she has died shortly after she had left Hathor behind. Life at the orphanage was rather hard for Hathor. She was alone and was not used to having so many people around, but eventually she started to settle down a bit. Winters at the orphanage were hard, as food started to decrease and the larger, older and stronger kids picked on the smaller ones. Ones like Hathor, who had never gotten a chance to grow strong, after all.
// She was ten when hunger led her to small crimes, like stealing apples from the person selling them on the marketplace or even stealing food from people’s backyards. It was risky, as there was a huge price to pay for stealing from others, but Hathor had no choice. If she didn’t steal, she would die. If someone caught her, she would most likely die as well - but it was worth the risk. She secretly started sharing some of her food with the other small and young kids, as she could not keep all for herself, seeing the other’s struggling as well under the pressure of the many bullies and greedy kids that took all food from the younger ones, just so that they could have a little extra.
// Hathor was eleven and a half when someone caught her stealing. But as if the little girl had a guardian angel hovering over her shoulder, there was someone present to rescue her from getting into a lot of trouble. It was a man in his early 40s, a person who was highly respected under the citizens of Sunfall; he was the Sol Invictus, a person Hathor had only heard of before, she had never seen him, but he seemed to know her. He told her to return the items she had stolen from the items and in return for that he asked - or actually, told, as no-one really dared to speak up against him - the person to lift the crime she had committed. Hathor did as he said, thankful for this kind stranger helping her out of this situation.
But as she was about to leave, the man told her to stay right where she was. He told her that it was not him who had saved him today, but his god. He also told her that a crime would not go unpunished and that his god would only be merciful to her if she became a Priest of Sol and thus he convinced her, as the young believable and innocent child she was, to join.
What he didn’t tell her, though, was that he had gotten a vision that morning. A vision about a woman with white hair, a vision telling him that she would be the one after him. The new Sol Invictus. And after that he had seen that same woman, but now as a little girl, a girl named Hathor who had been an orphan for five years, a girl who had just been caught stealing from quite a handful of people. The sun had spoken; it had been up to him to save her life, to save the life of the person who would follow in his footsteps many of years later.
// For the years to follow, Hathor was raised to become a good Priest of Sol. Ever since the day she had met the Sol Invictus, it seemed he had found a new 'favorite', even though he would not agree with anyone trying to tell him this. He started to train her in things he would usually leave to the other priests and whenever he had time, he asked her to join him and Hathor just followed him. She admired him and she could even say that at some point, the man had started to become like a new father to her.
// It took her about seven years to finally become an official Priest of Sol. After lots of training and re-raising, she was ready to take on the title.
// At the age of 27, the Sol Invictus unfortunately passed away. It became clear that she had been chosen by the sun itself to follow in his footsteps and become the new Sol Invictus. She had been totally unprepared for a task this huge, but she was ready to take it on and all she ever hoped was that the Sun would guide her.
