Once upon a time, there was a loving family, who had everything one could want. They lived a happy and rich life with a lot of balls, feasts, and love. Everyone knew who they were. They had done a lot for the poor people and did everything in their power to make life better for everyone. It came as a shock to everyone when their house blew up. No one had survived the attack. Or so they thought.
People believed it had been an accident, but little did they know. The family was murdered for some unknown reason. Maybe jealousy or hate. Not that people had any reason to hate the Dell'Aira family. They grieved them for weeks, months, but after a few years, people started to forget who they were. Only books remembered their name.

And while everyone thought the family to have decreased, one person remained. He'd only been an infant on the day of the explosion and remembers nothing of that day.

His life was doomed from the start. The people who found him were the same ones who blew up his house. At first, they wanted to kill him but changed their minds when they thought they could sell them when he was older. And so they did. He grew up without love, like cattle. Even cattle lived a better life.
When he was old enough they sold him to a man who'd be his master for years to come. The things that happened there were unspeakable. Only his Master and he knew those secrets and with his Master dead, they will die with Porthos when he does. No human nor animal should endure those things.

After many, many years his first Master died and Porthos was sold again. This time to a familly of Elves.
