It wasn’t for nothing that the original plan had been different. The vikings were going to storm the castle and would leave after killing the duke and taking all his belongings. With Kaz’ orders, however, things changed around a bit. No longer could she just hope that Ragnvald was as fierce as he looked, being able to take the Duke down with a single punch. No, now they had to sneak in and actually get something done. Or, Kaz did. She was here to make sure the vikings would leave afterwards. Because, if there was one thing the woman didn’t do, it was fight. She’d stab someone with a syringe, leave them for dead no problem. But actual self-defense or, even worse, offense? She had no idea how to. Perhaps she needed to learn. Perhaps it truly was time to put down her ego and thoughts and ask Dante to help her out.

For now, however, Kaz managed to get the Duke on his knees, causing Allison to tilt her head to the side slightly. It was a sad sight, how the man was completely helpless in no-time. He didn’t stand a chance against the monster that had put him down on the ground, the monster who slit his throat without any regret. Her stomach turned as she saw the man hit the ground. There was nothing left of him now. A relieved sigh left her mouth.

It was only then that her finger went to her collar bone. She stood in silence as she pulled her hand in front of her face. Blood. Her own. Oh, dear.

The man didn’t even seem to struggle when Kaz slit his throat. Lifeless, his body fell on the floor, blood coming out of the wound and surrounding him in a red pool. It was disgusting to look at, but Kaz didn’t feel anything. He felt nothing. The Vampire stared at the Viper, dropping the knife next to him like it didn’t just kill three men. After a silence, Kaz sighed, looking up from the Duke to Allison. He groaned.

Here he was, all bloodied, a murderer, a monster, and here she was worrying about a small cut in her collarbone. ‘’If you are going to faint, I will take this throne myself.’’ He warned her before he started to walk to the guard who had attacked Allison first. He kneeled down, letting his hands go over the body, ignoring the wounds. Kaz had tasted enough blood for now, it was something else he was looking for. Kaz took the man’s hand. It bore a ring. Married. The thief shrugged and without much thinking simply removed the ring from the finger. It would get him a few good gold pieces. The guard didn’t have much more to offer. He didn’t carry any gold with him, which was a disappointment. Kaz got up, looking from Allison to the throne before making a small nod. ‘’That’s yours to take now.’’ He spoke calmly before he moved on to the body of the second guard, looking for any valuables he had to offer. Kaz was and stayed a thief after all.

‘If you are going to faint, I will take this throne myself.’ The brunette looked up at the vampire, tears in her eyes. She pouted, looking back at the blood on her finger. The only scar she had gotten in her twenty four years on this planet, was in the palm of her hand, one that wasn’t visible unless you paid full attention to it. Now she had another one and she had no idea how bad it would look. In her line of work, she had seen the blood of others countless times. Her own, however, was a rare sight. One that made her light-headed the longer she looked at it. Deep breath in, don’t think about it. Deep breath out, the viking will be here soon. Panic.

Kaz’ words brought her out of her thoughts, looking at the ~~throne~~ extremely fancy chair. Hers to take. The brunette sighed deeply, making her way past a dead body as if it was nothing, before she sat down and smiled at the vampire. “The Jarl will be here soon.” She looked at the tips of her fingers, still covered in blood.

The thief rolled his eyes. ''Dramaqueen.'' He mumbled under his breath before he continued to search the guard. Until he suddenly seem to think of something. ''Or should I say.. Dramaduchess now?'' Kaz smiled mischievously, which looked a bit creepy with all the blood still on his face. It surprised him that nobody had noticed the tumult in the room and came looking. Maybe everyone had fled, maybe this hadn't been their final fight.

The second guard bore no ring and didn't have any valuables on him, which annoyed him. He understood why, but still, he wanted to get something for doing all this work. Now he just felt disappointed. Kaz got up, looking at Allison who sat down on the ~~throne~~ really fancy chair. He couldn't help but grin back at her. ''It suits you.'' He complimented her. The jarl, oh yeah, that was a thing. The raiding down in the city, the way the vikings destroyed this place. That was still happening. The grin disappeared. ''What do you want me to do?'' He finally spoke after s silence, his eyebrow raised.

He wasn’t even supportive, how saddening. The brunette sighed, pulling her clean hand through her hair as she shook her head in silence. This was not the time to worry about her skin, even though it hurt her in a mental way more than it did physically. She had worked too hard to keep everything clean and then one fucker put his knife on it and ruined it all. Luckily it was an area that she’d be able to cover easily. Something she should probably worry about another time, when she wasn’t in a room with three dead bodies and a very fancy chair.

It suited her. The brunette raised a brow, looking around for a second. She hummed softly, before standing up from the very fancy chair again. He asked her what she wanted him to do, so she just slowly walked up to him, smiling. “Nothing,” she told him. “We survived.” Now she only had to deal with the Jarl, but… Perhaps she needed to do that alone.

This all felt like a mess. A good one, but still it was a mess. I mean, if you looked at the room, there was blood everywhere. A guard who was basically sucked dry from his blood, another stabbed right through his heart and the Duke.. The Duke who lied in his own puddle of blood, like he was nothing. It was almost disappointing. Kaz frowned a little. Should he add this men to his list? Should he worry himself sick every night for what he had done to thesep eople? He remembered that only a few moments ago he hadn't seemed to mind. And now.. God, emotions could be so conflicting.

Allison got up, for a moment Kaz thought that perhaps he should bow before her. But was she oficially duchess yet? The vampire frowned again when she spoke her words. That wasn't very.. uplifting. ''We did.'' He confirmed. At least, for now. Maybe the jarl wouldn't keep his word, maybe this was all a fucking joke. Who knew? Kaz for sure didn't.

They had actually survived. She still needed to face the Jarl, but who knew how long it would be before he would be here. She would hand him the money and tell him that the Duke was killed. All would be fine, or so she hoped. For now, the first part of the plan had succeeded. The duke was dead and the two of them were unharmed. Except for that one scratch, of course, but it was something she’d survive.

A little shimmer appeared in her eyes as he confirmed her words. He was covered in blood and the image of the monster he had showed was still vivid in her mind. The realisation of this would probably hit later, but for now… She felt relieved. She stepped forward, wrapping her arms around him and pressing her face in his chest. He was covered in blood and so would she be, now. And for once - she couldn’t care less. “I’m glad.”

Ther hug was unexpected, maybe even a little uncomfortable. A minute ago she had been complaining about being cut, the next moment she wrapped her arms around a vampire covered in blood. He could smell the blood of her, awakening his hunger again. But Kaz controlled it, reminding himself of the other bodies laying on the floor. He didn't do all this for him to lose control again and ending it here and now.

After a brief moment of surprise, Kaz wrapped his hands around Allison, pressing her a little closer. She was glad to be alive. She better be, or all of this would have been for nothing. After a moment, Kaz let go again, cupping her head in his hands. A soft smile was on his lips. ''You know,'' He started seriously, brushing away some of the blood on her face, although that didn't really work out. ''I think no one really wants to marry us when we're covered in blood.'' Because that still was a thing that needed to happen, if he was happy about it or not.

After letting go, a smile forged itself on her face again. She bit her lip softly when he cupped her face with his hands. Well aware of the blood that covered them both now, she laughed when he spoke. That was, until the realisation suddenly came in and her smile made way for a frown. “Now?” she asked, looking somewhat concerned. They had only decided on this yesterday. Was he sure enough of this to go through with it immediately? Her heartbeat rose as she felt the panic kick in. Were they truly going to do that right now? Seal their lives like that? She had expected him to take some time, to…

“Are you sure?” she asked. That was all she needed to know. If he was… They could get it over with. It was saddening to think that she would probably never have the wedding that every girl dreamt off, but… What about this relationship fit that description? They were a mess, so their wedding might as well be too.

His words came as a surprise for her. Kaz and marrying. He was still reluctant at the it. The idea that he would be stuck with her forever, or until she died. Him being immortal, seeing her grow older while he stayed the same. If he didn't think about it like that, he wouldn't have minded that much. What were the odds of finding someone like Allison again? Aella.. had come into his life again and then disappeared. For a moment he had believed that there was a little spark of hope, but that all faded away when she was gone again. And then came Allison along. Allison who used him, drugged him and had stabbed multiple needles in his neck. And yet.. yet he still cared. He still wanted to be there for her. He wanted her.

The vampire smiled again, though he pressed his lips together, not wanting to show the blood that wasp robably stuck to his teeth. He nodded after a short moment of silence. ''I didn't get through all this if it weren't for you, Allison.'' He spoke softly, his demeanor serious again. ''I didn't let myself get stabbed with needles or turned into a vampire for nothing.'' he continued, before letting out a soft sigh. He was so, so stupid. But he was stupid for her. ''I love you, Allison. And nothing is going to change that.'' With those words he bended forward, pressing his lips on hers. ~~Unofficial marriage practice.~~

Allison had been the girl to dream of a prince on a white horse with a wedding that would stand by you forever. One of those weddings that was way too much. Exactly like you would expect of her. The exact opposite of what she could expect with Kaz. With a vampire, to make matters even ‘worse’. Her previous relationship would have been closer to that idea. The man who had showed her the world, taken her out of her comfort zone and brought her to where she was now. She had left him once bigger opportunities had showed up, ditching the idea of a perfect life with him.

And now she was here, feeling her heart beat in her chest as Kaz started speaking again. Because, all the details had stopped mattering. He loved her. She loved him. And they were going to fight, break up and hate eachother so many more times after today. Yet, that wouldn’t take away that truth. He had become her new dream. She’d just have to live with it. They had never been ones for an easy life, after all. Their lips touched and she closed her eyes, feeling a wave of warmth through her body, even though his touch was cold.

Eventually, she pushed herself away again, softly, looking up at the bloody vampire. “And I love you,” she answered. She could tell herself over and over again that she was stupid for it, but the moment she had entered that house after knowing he had been turned, she knew it wasn’t going to stop her. Even as a vampire, even as the one thing she was supposed to despise, she would stand by his side. “But you’re right. We’re a bloody mess.” In every possible way.

She had turned him soft, maybe even weak. But for now, Kaz didn't see anything wrong with it. Allison had only showed him that there was a lot more than just his pessimistic view on the world. She was stubborn, she was annoying and she could get under his skin, but she cared. And that was enough for him.

Her heartbeat fastened, slowed down again, got back to its normal pace. It made him smile when he let go of her. A soft chuckle left his lips when she spoke and he nodded. They were. And it was horribly wrong to talk about these kinds of things when you were surrounded by dead bodies. Yet, here they were. The vampire looked around for a moment. ''And what a mess we've made.'' He added to her words, letting go of her. The warmth of her skin still tingeling on his gloves.

He was a pessimist. An awful pessimist. His negativity had a way of ruining the mood and communication was awful at best. But, he was still here. And so was she. Even after all their fights, even after the fact that he had been turned into what he was. She had no clue why he had the effect on her that he had. After all - he had been just a thief with some weird magic that she was interested in. They had nothing in common and yet, they kept finding their way back to each other.

And they made an incredible mess when they did. The brunette looked around, pulling her hand through her hair once she saw the mess around them. “I’d rather pretend that doesn’t exist,” she admitted with a sigh. And luckily, there were many distractions. “I’ll have to talk to the Jarl before...” Doing that while covered in blood was not the worst decision, honestly. “So…” What were they going to do? Knock on the door of some solemniser and tell him to do this for his new Duke and Duchess? Sounded like a good plan.

And he rather pretended they had never got into this mess in the first place. But here they were, and it was bad. But there was also a lot of hope. Kaz had completed his contract. The only thing he had to do was get back to Valyria with proof and get his money. But that wasn't the most important thing right now. Because right now, they needed to get married.

Kaz glanced at the really fancy chair and then back at Allison. ''To be fair,'' He started with a sheepish smile, ''I have no clue where to find someone who can do that.'' It wasn't like he had that sort of contracts. He just needed people who could work for him and who could get a job done. That was it. Why the hell would he know a priest? Maybe Sunfall could help out, but that was too far away. And Kaz just wanted to get it over with.

“That’s easily done,” she admitted, shaking her head. “Brightwater is…” A smile appeared on her face again, as she shook her head carefully. “If you want it to be just the two of us, I can have it arranged tonight.” After all, it was Allison who they were talking about. If there was a deal or contact needed, she was probably the first to have it settled. It had been her job for years and it would be hers for many to come. She took pride in her list of contacts and how she managed to keep them. Hopefully, today would only increase her list.

The brunette opened her mouth to speak again, but closed it soon enough, again pulling a hand through her hair. The thought made her nervous and she couldn’t help but feel like there were still things they needed to clear up beforehand. But, the other part of her didn’t want to. They were doing this so he could stand by her side, right? She needed to stop thinking about it too much.
