Sea turtles, mate {open}

If there was one thing he enjoyed more than being on the sea it was telling and making up stories. It had been long and rough days at sea and one of the few things to give his mind a rest where scribbling up a few words here and there. Most of the time he randomly started with things that came into his mind in an instant. And other times he used his own experiences to spicy his stories up a bit. And as he licked his lips he continued. Seeing the many eyes being pointed at him he grinned softly and leaned forward towards the people that where so intrigued by the tale. The rope was burning the once soft palm of his hand as he used it to lean over the side of the ship he currently stood on. The water was awash with debris from the decks of both ships as cannons blazed back and forth between them with men on both sides running to-and-fro securing cargo and reloading cannons. This conflict had been on the cards for days and it had only been a matter of time until the ship that had stayed largely on the horizon came into full view and started firing on them. There was little chance they’d all walk away from this but he didn’t care; his only concern was for the row-boat that had departed from them yesterday and whether or not it had reached lands safety. Rhys continued while leaning back a bit on the chair he had placed himself on. Raising his voice a bit higher to stir up the tension and lowering his voice again to give it a bigger climax. And once he got their attention again he continued. Lifting up his can with Ale as he spiced the story a bit up. His liquid golden eyes seemed to light up the room and as he grins heavily he seemed to get even more attention. Not that he put his focus on that. In every tavern it was the same.. women where very easily persuaded around here. “They’re blowing us to smithereens, Captain!” He turned from the enemy ship to glance down to his first mate and the terror in his eyes. “What do we do?!” Rhys hissed as he raised his hands with the cup up and made some hand signals. “Give ‘em everything we’ve got!” He called down to him. “Jones!” He shouted for the man again as he turned to scurry away. “Our masts are looking a little bare up there.” he nodded upwards. “Let’s make sure they remember who holds this ship.”He flashed him a grin before turning and striding to the front of the helmsman’s station and bellowing down to the crew. “Hoist the colours!” Rhys brings his story to an climax and then moves himself to the bar. Telling stories was a nice way of distraction but it always made your throat very dry and harsh. Give me another ale bard! his voice warm as he raised the cup. Open. Finn was listening carefully as the young man concluded his tale. He was quietly drinking the ale and lamenting that it was sub par with the sweet crimson wine of Sunfall. His preference did go to the rougher whiskey from the North, but ale was just what he needed after making landfall. He liked the sea breeze but it did leave you more thirsty than a pirate in a brothel. Pirates were a problem overall, that is why he had a battle-axe strapped to his back. Luckily he never really had to use it.
The young man made is way to the bar and ordered another drink. As a tavern keep it was somewhat weird to be in a bar as a customer. Finn inspected the young man. He was young, but fit. Perhaps his tale wasn't that far fetched after all. Finn smiled at the young man and said: “That was a nice tale. Are you an adventurer?” Finn wasn't really that great at being social, but being in a bar without bar talk quickly becomes so dull.

As he ordered the ale, bard slide the cup towards him and grinned. Telling stories again huh. Rhys smirked back as he heard the men talk Always! It's a good way of distraction. Bard laughed and leaned on the bar Aye boy, I know better ways to keep myself distracted. Bard answered him while looking at the ladies in the room. Most of them where slaves or just cheap whores the Innkeeper bought to keep the men company while they enjoyed their drinks. It was not like an ordinary brothel. More of an 'extra' service when in need for a drink.. and other things. Rhys smiled, lifting the corner of his lips up as he looked over his shoulder around the room. Licking his lips. There where some pearls around here. But most of them didn't get his attention. Not as if he was too good for them. But they simply didn't triggered his feelings that much. Rhys turned himself around and leaned against the bar. Lifting the cup to his mouth he took a few sips from the cold ale and felt it run down his throat. It was then until he saw the older man appear in the corner of his eyes. He turned his golden gaze towards the man and smiled back. greetings he began as he turned his body towards the man. Adventurer, storyteller, raider...Pirate. I got many titles. he smirked while raising the cup again taking another sip. As he lowered the cup Rhys noticed his drink. Bard, fill the cup of my friend here will you? he asked them with his Rhoynish accent. Are you traveling through the country my friend? he began. His voice harsh from the story he just told.
