The cave was rather dark but the torches made it somewhat do able to see what everything was. From the gigantic walls to the the glittering golden coins, cups, statues and other decorations that belonged to the Laendaerys family for decades. It was something that they had possessed for a long time now. Something 'normal' persons can only dream off. His eyes light up a little when he heard the thief talk again and he shrugs. Who knows, maybe the same way you get yours... He did not even knew the answer to the question either. For sure this all was not achieved by only hard working. But also by taking. Something the Laendaerys were very good at from time to time. And then there was that growl in the distance, the pair of golden eyes that lid up in the dark environment. Followed with a falling sound of coins. Slowly a smirk seemed to creep on lareth's face and by the time he got down from the horse he demanded Kaz to do the same. Only to set the horse free and moved his body towards a torch which he picked up from the wall. His eyes were speckles with golden flakes from the fire he held close to place his gaze on Kaz. Still sure you want to continue? --- he cut himself short and let his eyes trail over the thief. Slow and deliberate. After a heartbeat, perhaps two he shook his head. too late for that now. The doors are closed and won't open, not until I give the command. there was that slight smirk around the corners of his mouth again. That kind of smirk that showed who was in charge here. And before he waited for any reaction he turned his body away only to move himself towards the source off the growl. Still lurking in the shadows.

Oh, how stupid he had been. He truly was driven by greed. The fact that he could have made money of this had been enough to lure him in, to get wrapped around the finger of the king. But the sight of all this gold made him think this would be a nice place to die. He would be surrounded by riches that weren't even his, but if he just believed in it long enough, perhaps he could come to an agreement.
Lareth liked to play, that much was clear. The thief had no idea what he was up against, let alone if he would be up against something. For all he knew he would be done for in a splitsecond. The indirect threat of the king didn't make Kaz feel any better. ''Well fuck me.'' He mumbled with clenched teeth, before limping after the king. Kaz truly knew how to end up in the most ridiculous situations.

People only seemed to be as good as the world allows them to be. Perhaps they need you today. But when the game is over and the job is done they don't need you they'll cats you out. Like a leper. None could play games with him. He would always be ahead of the curve. And ahead he was. As the smirk on his face widened by the thief his reaction. That's a rather... odd proposal. a glimpse of gold in his eyes see able. But those were matters they could take care of later today. If the thief was even able to get outside, in one piece. if.. was probably the right word for this. For whatever what was held up in the shadows Larethian had little control on. Perhaps a slight scale of respect, but nothing more, nothing less. With the smirk still fancying his lips he turned away pulling the torch up next to him. Moving himself to the source of the growl. With only a few steps he could feel a chilly wind brush against his face followed by the pair of eyes that moved around. dii jun, zoklot do lotgral. hin mid aar lost daal {My king, greatest of calamity. Your loyal servant has returned.} His voice was lower, more like a growl towards whatever lives in the shadows. He stopped his body from moving right before the pile of coins that were placed there. Another growl, this time louder echoed through the room and for a moment Larethian closed his eyes and let the voice disappear into the environment. Only to open them with another heartbeat as coins were falling again. This time followed by more coins until the shape became clearer and the eyes sharper, closer. Slowly the shape of the head became visible, followed by a pair of teeth, claws and gigantic black wings. The king breathed in and lowered himself into a small bow avoiding eye contact with the beast, for now.

Of course the King replied as if nothing was wrong. Kaz shot him an annoyed glance, noticed how he probably was in no place to do so and let his eyes fall on the ground beneath him. It was littered with coins. He stared longer at it than needed. He could feel his fingers itch, wanting to kneel down and grab everything he could. Suddenly the ring he had been trying to steal, and even managed to do so, feeled so insignificant. No, not only the ring, every accomplishment felt like a sudden disappointment.
With a confused gaze, Kaz watched Larehtian speak. Had he become this drunk that talking had suddenly become too hard to understand? But that seemed to be the least of his concerns as a sudden shape made itself present. Only seeing the teeth was enough for Kaz to stumble backwards. He managed to keep himself on his feet, looking from the monster to Lareth, how was bowing. Kaz followed his example hesitantely, almost petrified of the creature that was standing before him. He was sure of it. He was going to die.

The quietness that hung in the cave just seconds ago seemed to have disappeared within a few seconds. Followed by the third growl and the giant dragon that came behind it. The beast snorted loudly and moved his long serpent like body through the room filled with the most precious gems. As sly and fast as he was the beast pulled it's head down a few meters from the place were the two of them bowed. what is it that you seek in the halls of Sahrotaar? The beast blinks a few times, it's golden gaze filled with fury and bloodlust and takes up their scents. One familiar and the other one that he did not knew by now. You have nice manners for a thief the beast hummed with a growl. Larethian moved himself up again as he turned his body halfway towards Kaz to see how he was doing. Not that he cared about it anway. come now, don't be shy. it was a demand from the beast that could not be denied or shoved away that easily. He moves on. Dragging his body between the giant pillars and statues that put the place together. His face slowly raising only to move it closer towards the thief. There is, something about you.. something you carry. he blinks another time showing the serpent eyes that resembles most of his character. Something made of gold. The beasts moves again, showing it's teeth but this time he slithers towards kaz, lowering his head in the process.

The monster got closer. No, this wasn't a monster. This was a dragon and a pretty large one at that. Kaz could feel his heart racing and he looked everywhere but at the creature, desperate to avoid any contact with it. Who knew how quickly he angered it and he would be set ablaze?
The voice that came from the creature, only made Kaz tremble even more. He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to get his heart and breathing under control. He was fine, everything was fine, he wasn't dying. Yet. The thief wasn't sure if he was supposed to answer the question the beast had asked, so instead he pressed his lips together and hoped for the best. The fact that Larethian stayed silent wasn't helping either. Eventually, Kaz rose. The dragon told him not to be shy but to tell the truth, Kaz was scared. Very scared. He managed to tilt his head upwards, staring at the beast coming closer. And Kaz couldn't move.
And the dragon was coming closer, whispering that he carried something. It took some time for Kaz to find his voice again. ''I do. And it is of great importance to me.'' He surprised himself with how steady his voice sounded, though he could feel his hands tremble. The last thing he had expected to see today was a bloody dragon. Wait, shouldn't he be showing respect? How did you even talk to dragons? ''I feel.. honored to be in your presence.'' The thief quickly added, his voice softer than before but he was trying not to die here. Who could blame him?

Larethian had decided to take a step back from the event that was going on and see how the thief would handle the situation. He watched how he reacted and how he behaved around the beast which only made him grin a little bit more while the beast threw it's words at him. It was moving it's sly and long body through the pillars and statues that held te place together. Only to stop it's body from moving until he lowered his head. The beast surely had a hand of it to play along with it's victims before eating them. Same could be said of every person that he encounters. So one would never knew if he or she gets eaten. Larethian threw his hands over eachother and stayed put. Fear was such a nice emotion to see how one would handle something. Would he try to flee? Would he stay silent? Would he attack? No one would know. Only the thief. Don't try to flatter me with your fancy words, thief. the beast growled at him again. How nice to see someone with such a sharp tongue turn into a worthless soul in the pressence of these majestic creatures. And Larethian could not blame him for that. They were, after all.. majestic and almost immortal. Sahrotaar, he spoke then making an end off this tensed discussion between the dragon and the thief. Slowly stepping towards the beast again as he turned it's golden gaze towards the king. We have not come here to steal your precious hours of day. looking back at him with his blue gaze. I have come here for a favor. One made of gold. There were gems in this room that he desired. Precious gems made of the finest starlight. Gems that Sahrotaar protects with his life for over decades. But that was not what he was looking for right now. Right now he wanted the ring and he knew where to get it.
